After checking in, we went out. I noticed that the door did not automatically lock behind us when we went out. After some jiggling and banging and slamming, it did lock. Same thing when we came back that evening, but it was late and we didn't want to change rooms so we bolted the door and put the safety lock on.
In the morning I mentioned to the desk clerk about the door to our room not locking. He said he would "Have a look at it." When we went out for the day we went through the same jiggle and dance to get the door to lock.
That evening, the desk clerk apologized upside down and backwards that the morning clerk (who was apparently the manager) did not fix or contact us about the lock on our door that still did not lock. It was earlier in the evening and I asked for another room.
She moved us to another room, but that door lock HAD THE SAME PROBLEM and DIDN'T LOCK.
After much more apologizing, the clerk then upgraded us to another room, where the door actually locked. It was a nice room, twice the size of the previous, plus it has a microwave and refrigerator. And a bathtub (the first room had only a shower with dismal water pressure)
The following morning the toilet backed up - Housekeeping was in the hallway so my husband stepped out and asked if there was a plunger. I heard her say "I'm sorry, I don't have one."
Uhhm really? No offer of "Oh I'll get one" or "I'm so sorry, I'll take care of that for you"
My husband went downstairs and the same man (manager from the previous morning that didn't fix our room door or offer to move us to another room), gave him a plunger and sent him on his way to plunge the toilet himself.
When my husband returned the plunger talked to the manager about the lock issue. The manager had said "I looked at it but didn't know how to fix it and our maintenance guy is on vacation."
But the review doesn't end there.
Shortly after the plunger incident and conversation with my husband, the manager came to our room and told us:
You shouldn't have been put in this room and we're going to have to move you, this is a much more expensive room than the one you were in. Unless you want to pay the extra charge.
Us: We will just check out and stay someplace else.
Him: ok
So we went someplace else and will never EVER come back here and will write as many reviews as we can to let other know of our experience.
