“Wonderful staff...dated hotel”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 15 February 2011

This Residence Inn could easily be great but it falls short in the overall experience. Very friendly staff keeps the place humming and almost makes up for the obvious age and wear & tear on the rooms and exterior of this complex. The walls are thin and the furnishings, save for the HDTVs, are cheap.

Great breakfast but no receptions Fri - Sun.

Basic accommodations in a great spot for skiing.

“Perfect location for Alta skiing!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 13 February 2011

We love to ski at Alta, and after many years of staying at Alta's mountain-side lodges, we decided to try this Marriott located in Cottonwood, very near the entrance to Big and Little Cottonwood Canyons. The drive to Alta takes about 20-30 minutes in good weather. This hotel is very comfortable, with cozy beds, full kitchens, easy parking and friendly and helpful staff. The location is terrific, near several excellent restaurants, including Trio and the Market Street Grill. Downtown SLC is a 20-minute drive (with more great restaurants like La Cucina Toscana) and the airport is about a 30-minute drive. Not the fanciest place I have ever stayed, but absolutely can't be beat for friendliness and convenience to the best skiing in Utah!

“Very Friendly Staff”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 13 January 2011

My first time to Salt Lake City and the city was so beautiful. I'll have to make a trip back when it's not for work. The front desk staff was extremely friendly. Almost like greeting an old friend rather than customers. Not only the front desk staff and manager, but also the cleaning staff who smile and greet you in the hallway, and the kitchen staff who server the evening food and breakfast. They all seem to be so happy which conveys in their work.

The room was very spacious and everything I have come to expect from a Residence Inn. Free internet, free breakfast, free evening social. There was a kitchenette, a desk, and sitting area. The TV swivels so you can watch it from the couch or the bed. What surprised me was that the outdoor pool was open. I'm not sure I would have gone out in the cold to use it, but I saw many people head out there.

“Great choice”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 6 January 2011

Stayed here while skiing the Cottonwood Canyons and excellent choice in every regard. very close to the first ski bus stop outside the canyons ie a shorter bus ride than staying further down. Little shuttle van takes you to the ski bus stop. Very very friendly and helpful staff. Excellent breakfast. We had the one bedroom suite - very clean and acceptable. Little kitchen very convenient. Excellent value all around.

Stayed here for 2 weeks while visiting family. Great loaction for us, but depends what you are looking for. Fantastic service, rooms serviced to a high standard, dishwasher was put on for us each day. Great pool and friendly staff. Lovely views of the mountains from the pool area. Good location for the ski resorts. Two big flat screen Tv's. Very quiet. Would stay again. Basic, but good breakfast. Free internet, small gym. Hot tub open every evening until 10pm. Twice weekly free dinner for guests (BBQ etc)
