I stayed at this hotel for the last two months for work in the Salt Lake City area. The hotel is very convenient as it is located at the airport, and downtown is about 10 minutes away, an easy drive. There are only two places to walk to for dining, and they are both owned by the same person. My co-worker had his rental broken into one night and the GPS stolen, so I would recommend keeping your car empty at night. The area overall seemed safe though.
The hotel is NOT for romantic nights, or even couples who want to feel like they are on vacation. My wife visited for 2 weeks while I was there and it was definitely not suitable for couples wanting to relax. The walls are paper thin, and I had the luxury of listening to my neighbours talk about work all night long. My work day started at 4:30 a.m. so I wanted to be asleep pretty early, but this proved difficult due to thin walls and the maid service smacking my door with the vacuum 3-4 nights a week at 8:30pm. Seems kind of late for people who want to wind down early. The front desk were helpful, but no where near the service I have received at most other hotels. They did their job, I will give them that. As far as customer service, it was lacking a bit. The free rental DVD's were very handy (the tv's are small and old), and the honor-system convenience "store" was very nice for early morning when I needed to grab a quick bite. The free laundry was a big help. No pool or hot tub kinda stinks for a ski town where relaxation is a must after a day on the slopes.
The internet deserves it's own line here as it is PATHETIC. Checking e-mail about maxes out the bandwidth......
The rooms are only cleaned once a week, and this is not too big of a deal except the trash always overflows so you will see full trash bags outside of people's rooms from time to time. The whole place always smells like a mix of cleaning solution, dirt, dogs, cigarettes, and food.
Overall this place is hard to pinpoint as to whom they cater to. It's not couples....and it can't be for business-men/women as their is no business/conference room, computers, printers, scanners, copiers, or fax machines readily available....Given the opportunity to pick our own hotels, I can speak for my colleagues in saying we would have chosen differently.
