“The staff makes all the difference”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 23 January 2012

I cannot remember a hotel with a more attentive, friendlier staff. Everybody we encountered went out of their way to make us feel welcome and comfortable, They understood our needs (quick breakfast, late checkout, late night snack) and catered to our needs beyond our expectations. No, it's not a five star hotel, but every 5 star hotel would be fortunate to have such dedicated employees on their payroll.
Needless to say....I would stay there again in a heartbeat

“Average in every way”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 24 December 2011

For me, a 3 star rating means a place I could go back to with no regrets, but nothing special. That describes this hotel perfectly.

I guess I could find fault that my request for a low-floor room put me on the top floor, or that the check-in desk clerk didn't acknowledge my Silver status in the frequent stayer program, but basically this was an average stay in an average hotel. I needed a place to crash while driving to the West coast, and Courtyard offered the best value for the money and best close-to-the-freeway location. I got exactly what I paid for and am satisfied.

The location is West of SLC airport, adjacent to I-80, in an industrial park. That means there are no options for finding nearby food and drink if the lobby restaurant is closed. I didn't try the hotel's food offerings because they had already closed up when I arrived at 10pm, and hadn't re-opened when I left at 6:30 the next morning.

The room was Courtyard's standard model, with a comfortable bed, extra feather pillows (requested in my reservation) and that vague deja-vu feeling you get when the room is identical to many others you've stayed in before.

“Exactly what you'd expect...”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 19 December 2011

I was given a free night at this hotel from Delta Airlines due to being bumped from a flight. It is exactly what you would expect from an airport budget hotel...in Utah. The room was dated, but clean. The amenities were bare bones basic (off brand, no lotion). the restaurant was average but the menu was rife with misspellings and the wine choices were pretty disappointing (one red, one white and oddly two white Zinfandels). The menu offered "demy" glaze, and "Angis berger". The free shuttle was slow and ran irregularly. Upon check-in I was told the shuttle ran constantly; that was incorrect and I had an unexpected 25min wait in the morning.

“Get a great night sleep!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 17 November 2011

Marriott has the most comfortable beds so if you are looking for a place to SLEEP, this is it!

I was bumped from a flight and put up in this hotel overnight.
I took the hotel shuttle and checked in late in the evening. I was met with fresh cookies at the counter as I walked up to check in. I had the option of coffee or tea right there by the front desk as well, nice option to have with the cookie. The staff was very helpful, efficient and polite...even directed me turn by turn to my room!

The lobby was clean, the pool and hot tub just past the lobby was clean and the workout area had more equipment than a token treadmill and bike so it too was above average in my opinion.

The room was a convenient size, not too big or small. It had a desk, a love seat and a single bed. The bathroom was split with the sink just outside and the toilet and shower in a separate room. The shower had a bowed curtain rod allowing for a little more room for soaping up and the towels were new, clean and fluffy.

My wake up call was right on time, which I appreciate as well.

Breakfast had some options. I think the best deal was the buffet for $9.95. It came with made to order eggs, biscuits and gravy, fresh cut fruit, yogurt, oatmeal, make your own waffles, sausage and bacon and already scrambled eggs to name a few items. Coffee, tea and or juice was also available.

If you are passing through or taking a flight the next morning I would consider this property! I would stay again just for the comfy bed!!

“Good place, but a bit far from downtown”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 17 November 2011

Pros:
* Spacey and clean rooms
* Free coffee and tea in the lobby

Cons:
* You will have to spend $21-25 for taxi to go to the city center.
* A bit expensive for the location and value.

** Can't recall if they had free WiFi
