I stayed here 2 weeks, Late January into early February 2011. Location is main reason I chose it (excellent for skiing and shopping), plus the kitchen aspect. It's not a bad place. It is showing its age a little bit, the furniture was a bit tired, but it was OK and clean.
A few issues: queen bed had a very evident list to one side! Evidently solo travellers sleep in it so side nearest lamp was a bit collapsed, hurt my back. Rolled up onto the un-used side and that was good. Lack of a proper vented exhaust fan meant cooking smells permeated the room. I opened the window and propped the door open (noticed other residents did this also) but on the cold nights, this was somewhat bracing. Fridge was very noisy... I took to turning it off at night.
Air con/heater was a very unahappy unit, it took to blowing cold air when it wasn't heating, which made it very hard to sleep. Helpful staff person showed me the trick to turning it off and that fixed the problem. A friend who checked in to the hotel had the exact same issue.
Noise... better than most similar hotels, no street noise at all, but a bit came through the walls, but again, less than in some hotels. but why did they do vacuuming out in the hallway at 1am?! BBQ was a great facility, used it several times as did other skiiers and snowboarders using the hotel. Laundry was also great, free washers and dryers, appreciated that. And the place was clean, so kudos to the cleaning ladies, good job.
