We spent one day on the Olympic peninsula with 2 nights at Ocean Crest B&B. Do not stay here if you are expecting a frilly Victorian mansion. This is like staying in your mom's or aunt's house. We had a hectic schedule, arriving late on Thursday night and leaving early on Saturday morning. Barbara & Jim were very accomodating - staying up till 11 to let us in when we got delayed driving in from SeaTac due to road construction. We had a simple but sumptuous breakfast of scrambled eggs, blueberry pancakes, sausage, and fruit. Barbara also helped us plan our day touring the Olympic peninsula, and very thoguhtfully packed the mostly uneaten remainder of our son's breakfast. (He didn't east it later - he's not a very good eater - but mom and dad were very happy finishing it off.
The next morning we had to leave very early, but our morning tea was at the door by 6 and Barbara even got us a continental style breakfast (muffins, Danish) to get us going in the morning. It might just be because we were on vacation, but the quality of the ingredients was superb - the strawberries in particular were amongst the best I have ever had.
The room we stayed in was small with a bath across the hall but that is fine - this is not a huge establishment. The house is 1980s style suburban comfortable and the bathroom was spotless. The views from the common room in the front of the house overlook the ocean (Juan de Fuca Strait) and you can see across to Victoria. The view from upstairs at breakfast was even nicer.
All in all, very practical and enjoyable.
