“Cozy and comfortable”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 9 September 2011

I would definately recommend A Hidden Haven. We stayed there during a family vacation to Olympic National Park. It was about 15 minutes from the Park, but it had all the amenities we needed. Our cottage had a large master bedroom with large bath, a pull out sofa and eat-in kitchen. We discovered that restaurant selection in Port Angeles is slim. If we stayed again, I pick up an easy dinner and eat in.

“Beauty & Tranquility”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 1 September 2011

Tucked away in the woods, a few miles out of Port Angeles. We stayed in the Garden Suite, which overlooked the lake, which was very pretty, and well stocked with fish that you could feed. Deer were resident, particularly the reindeer, enjoyed your company. The suite was certainly private, spacious and comfortable, with an interesting octagonal sitting room. Fresh fruit and homemade cake were provided, as well as juice, yoghurt and suchlike for breakfast, although this was an extra. The innkeeper was very interesting. The cottages looked interesting as well. A well stocked video library. This was a really relaxing retreat. We stayed three nights, but could easily have stayed much longer. Apart from the enjoyment of the property itself, there is much to do in the area.

“Very nice property with welcoming owners, but decor was a little bit Grandma”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 24 August 2011

We loved walking in the woods around this property, which the owners have maintained very well. The animals they keep were lovely, and we enjoyed interacting with them.

Our only issue was about the decor in our room. I'll preface this part by saying that we may not be the target demographic for this B&B (we are a pair of 20-something lesbians).

We stayed in the Garden Suite, where the decor was Dolores Umbridge meets Grandma's cottage in the woods. There were "precious moments" figurines and painted plates with children and kittens, there was a lot of pink in the room, etc. Kind of a turn-off on a romantic weekend away!

The room did have a great two-person Jacuzzi under a skylight.

Room Tip: Garden Suite not great for couples, at least not young ones

“A hidden treasure”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 23 August 2011

We found this place via a google search because we were struggling to get family friendly accommodation on the north coast of the Olympic Pensinsula. What a great find. Lovely for a quiet get away but also lots of fun for the kids - a beautiful pond where we fed the trout, a paddock with friendly deer and loads of space to expore. We heard coyotes at night and Chris told us tales of otters and bald eagles which help themselves to his trout!
The cottage was delightful (we stayed in Whimsical Bear) and Chris and Jodie had though about every need - coffee in the fridge, ice in the freezer, fully equipped kitchen and smellies in the bathroom (the kids loved the jacuzzi bath). There are even bath robes.
It is also in a good location for all the attractions of that north coast - and there are many.
We stayed two nights but could have stayed longer.

“Cabins nestled in the forest provided great vacation for kids and adults alike”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 13 August 2011

Each of the cabins is nestled into the surrounding 20 acres. The kids loved the location as it afforded numerous opportunities for safely exploring in the nearby forest. There were fish, deer, reindeer, and lots of other things for the kids (and adults to see). Word has it that there is even a bear living nearby. For the parents, the cabin offered a complete vacation site with close proximity to the sites in and around Olympic National Park. The two-room cabin comes complete with everything that you might need, including a full size washer & dryer adjacent to the master bedroom. The fully stocked kitchen provided ample room for the preparation of several dinners. Although the rooms have satellite TV, we found ourselves doing so many other things that we didn't even turn it on. The comfy fire kept the room warm - and we used it even in August as it was cool outside. A home away from home, a Hidden Haven was truly a great place to spend a few days!

Room Tip: loved the decor and location of the Whimsical Bear
