“Friendly people and Environment”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 28 August 2009

I was looking for a place with restaurnt close to it and this travellodge is the best location for it. It has hooters (one of my favroite) and many other places to eat and hang around. They have a shopping center close to it and a movie theater. The staff was very friendly and welcoming. It was cheap and convivnet for a roadies like my family and I. Rooms were very clean and we were provided good amount of room service considering the cost of the room. Rooms smelled very nice, as well too. their parking area was very well maintened compared to the other motels I have stayed in. Their lawn and enterance of the motel was really nicely done (kind of elegant). I would definately recommended this place for any kind of people. If you are travelling with big family then its a good idea to stay here considering the rate, friendly environment, close by restarunts, shopping center, cleaniness hygenic, safe and sercure place for your kids as well.
I for sure will go and stay over there if I pass by there anytime. :)

“The Bates Motel of Macon, Georgia”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 16 September 2007

After sitting in a cramped car with a horrible sunburn all day long, we stopped at the Travelodge in Macon, Georgia. Let me tell you, if Alfred Hitchcock was looking for a prop for the movie "Psycho", he would be jumping for joy if he visited this motel. The rooms looked kind of like the 1970's and they needed some much needed repair. If you plan on patronizing this dive, please watch "Psycho", "Room 1408", and "Motel Hell". Watching these will change your mind about this establishment

“Creepy”

We basically needed a room for one night as a break between our real destinations. It was cheap and that's certainly what we got. Upon check-in they didn't even have a computer, you had to hand fill out a sign-in card. The room was not very clean and the air didn't work well. There some sort of bug in the room that kept biting us. We stayed in one of the second floor rooms (there are no elevators) and went in search of ice. The hallways on the second floor are completely closed in with no air conditioning. It was incredibly creepy. We wouldn't walk around the hotel alone. If you are only planning on spending a few hours there for some quick rest, then I guess it's okay, but I wouldn't recommend you stay alone. It was convenient off of the interstate.

  • Liked — I can't say there was anything we really liked.
  • Disliked — It was not a comfortable hotel - neither room-wise or safety-wise

“You get what you pay for”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 22 March 2006

Check in was very very lenghty front desk was slow and we were the only ones checking in. Wanted to get a diffrent room that is why it was taking so long but finally just stuck with reservation because of length time it was taking to find another vacant room.

The other review about overbilling/charge issues is on point. They charged us for 3 nights though our reservation was for 4 nights and when the front desk notice their error the manager said he would not honor their mistake. Eventhough all our paperwork given to us @ check in confirmed a 4 day reservation. Never challenge it because we ended up checking out a day earlier for other reasons. But, if we would have stayed another day as planned I really don't know if they would have honored it or not - guess we'll never know!

Front desk and maid was courtsey. Cont. B/fast could have been much better, but you always get what you pay for.

Great location close to lots of food choices and shopping. Rooms were clean and comfortable.

“Beware of overbilling”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 17 January 2005

Be very careful if you stay at this motel for an extended period of time.
I tried to pay for my room each week with a debit card and they said they could only process it as a credit card. Each week I went and tried to pay for the next and they would sometimes print a receipt and other times claim their printer was not working. I have all my bank statements to prove all payments were made. While checking out of the motel the manager assured me that my account had been billed.
It took them three weeks to bill me for the last two weeks of my stay and they added a week onto my bill. I contacted the manager in person and he said he had no record of my stay after a period of two weeks had passed. He also said the delay in billing was due to the satallite being down for three weeks. He would not even attempt to resolve the issue with me. I have now contacted Cendant Corp., the parent company. They say the franchise has 7 days to resolve it before they will begin looking into the matter. The motel was very well priced but also run down and in need of repair. This whole experience had been very disappointing. If I took over $200.00 of their property, I am sure I would be in jail by now.
