“Want to relax? You found it”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 8 March 2011

We were looking for a place to relax. We definitely found the spot. Just in front of a infinite seafront, 200 steps to go to the beach (nothing to worry about), the staff is absolutely great (regards to João Paulo, Antonio, Silvan.....), the rooms are great (you have to see room 38!), the food is delicious and they have regular transports to take you to Pipa.
Strongly recommend and will return soon....

“Loved it all!”

My husband and I booked for a 3 night stay in a standard room, based on the recommendation of an american couple we had met in Argentina. This was the BEST recommendation we were given on the entire trip!
From the moment we arrived at the hotel, it was clear that a lot of thought had been given to the hotel and its surroundings. The hotel is well located half way between Pipa and Tibau de Sul, with a regular hotel shuttle to Pipa at any time during the day and hourly in the evenings, for a small fee. The rooms are scattered around the very large property, well hidden from the road and from the beach (you can't even see the hotel when you're on the beach). The grounds are beautifully maintained. We made friends with one of the gardeners, and one morning we found him feeding these tiny monkeys with bananas by the pool. So this became our morning ritual, we would take bananas with us before and after breakfast in the hope of feeding them, so fun and unexpected.

Our room was fabulous, with a comfortable king size bed, mini bar, extremely large bathroom with great shower and a perfect view of paradise from our private porch (which also had a large hammock for relaxing to the sound of waves). Needless to say we really loved it! The third morning of our stay we were woken at 7:30am by construction work next door, the rooms passed the pool with the unobstructed view, are all being updated. We rang reception twice before the workman stopped for an hour, obviously not what you want when you're on holiday. The staff were very apologetic and offered to move us to another room, which we were reluctant to do as we were very happy in our room, though we didn't want to put up with the construction noise in the mornings. We went to check out the room which the staff wanted to move us to, and it was even bigger and better than the room we were in! It was the Super room which is the top one they have, so we moved in and extended our stay for an additional 3 nights.

The pool is great with a lovely pool bar, though the bar tends to close fairly early during the week, and we got caught out a few times and had to order cocktails through the restaurant. We ate at the hotel's restaurant a few times and had a couple of stand-out meals. Breakfast was nice each morning with a varied buffet (though there could be a little more non-jamon/ham choice offered). We became friendly with Roberto (one of the waitstaff) who lent us his own surfboard to use for a few days which was really nice.

Most of the staff were great and really made an effort to make sure our holiday was perfect. We really loved our stay here and wish we could have stayed even longer!

“Beautiful view”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 24 May 2010

Nice place to stay. We loved the swimming pool, the room, gardens and, the best, the view. But food isn't too good.

“Good if everything turns up well”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 29 December 2009

It is the best hotel view of the beach, with quite comfortable rooms. The hotel restaurant makes good food, but you can expect a long waiting. The beach is great though,
You should know that the marvelous view is due to the hotel be located 196 steps from the sea level, so don't expect any accessibility for handicapped or lazy people. The parking lot is very limited and insufficient in the high season, if you have a car; and the hotel is located far from the village (<3 miles or 4 km), if you don't have. They have a shuttle for a small but annoying fee. They also have a small fee for the safe in the room, I highly recommend it, see the others reviews.
We had a frustration in the very first day, there were a big party in the restaurant, with a loud music, it seems a karaoke or similar, and we couldn’t sleep. The pleadings for turning down the volume were solemnly ignored. So, as we were in a group, we moved to the balcony (in a hammock) of a lodge more distant to the party. We returned to the room only after 3am, when the party ended. But, the others guests, in the rooms adjacents to the pool, didn't have the chance to escape to a distant lodge, and couldn't sleep up to 3 am. But, if you like to party all night long, I'm afraid it was the only party in the week.
In the morning we tried to complain, but they didn't seem to care, so we didn't bother to stress and the others days were great. But, I kept the feeling that if anything turns up bad they won't try to fix it for you.
An important tip: we took the master room, with bathtub, not a good idea. The others took the regular room. The premium is located by the pool, with can be very noisy, and the regulars rooms are in charming lodges quite isolated from the crowd. So, you only should take the premium room if you plan to really use the (not so large) bathtub.
