We made our reservation online a couple of hours before our arrival for a non-smoking room with a king-sized bed. Upon arrival we learned that no such rooms were available, so we settled for a room with two double beds. No big deal...just a disappointment! This is a hotel with a convention center...like a Holidome...so we figured they'd overbooked.
The room was quiet, clean, and comfortable with nice bedding, so we got a good night's rest.
The next morning we arrived in the breakfast area to find one other customer. Hmmm...there were bagels, bread, and English muffins, but only jelly to go atop them. No butter. No cream cheese or peanut butter either. There was milk and juice. There were Kellogg's Corn Flakes. That's it! No fruit, yogurt... Seemed strange for a hotel with convention center. I asked at the front desk about the possibility of getting butter. The clerk pointed me to the young gal vacuuming. No, they don't have butter and never have butter, cream cheese, or peanut butter. Another traveler entered the breakfast area and was as surprised as the three of us already seated.
Before departing, I stopped at the restroom near the breakfast area. Yikes! There were towels strewn and one of the stools was FULL and nearly overflowing.
We continued on to the whaling museum in New Bedford. While there, I picked up a brochure about the town. In the listings of motels was the Days Inn Hotel and Conference Center. Oh my! It described the pool, jacuzzi rooms, continental breakfasts, etc. I pity the next unsuspecting traveler.
