in south Maui this beach is clean and peaceful with snorkelling by the rocks that is pretty good - amazing if you see a water turtle loom over you, as big as a small car!!!
Absolutely gorgeous beach. Nice and wide and long. Never crowded. Lots of space for everyone. Go for an early morning walk as the sun rises to the east over 10,000 foot Haleakala mountain. The light and colours at this hour (7 to 7:30 AM) are spectacular. The beach runs from the Mana Kai resort in the north down to just across the Wailea border in the south. One very large, shaded parking lot with a walkway to the beach halfway down it's length and a smaller lot at the south end of South Kihei Road. One day while I was in the water a woman saw a sea turtle swim by not ten-feet away from her. Pretty cool! Showers near both parking areas.
NIce swimming and waves to ride with very few people.
Good beach parking, but,need to get there early. waves come up around 1pm when wind starts- long beach for walking with some shady areas. houses on cliff side- portapotty on site
Keawakapu beach has amazing sand, easy snorkeling (we saw lots of turtles) and never seems to be crowded. A hidden gem.
