“#1703 condo rocks!!”

First time to stay at Ekolu Village. We will definitely stay there again. Tons of anemeties in the condo. Lovely ocean view and privacy as well. Fabulous grounds. We had a problem with the free internet and they had someone there in a flash to fix it. Any problems we had which were few they were on top of it. Very good service! I will say I was thrown off guard by having to go to the nearby mall to check in. We arrived after dark, not the best idea, but we had made a long drive from Hanna mountain. After going through check in (which was very easy) we got lost finding our condo. They sent a driver to help but we found it before he arrived. The front desk guy was very patient with me. I wasn't easy to deal with: it was late, I was tired and grumpy after getting lost. If you don't stay here you are missing out! The rates were the best as well. Value for dollar is unbeatable!!!

“Lovely view, quiet location”

We stayed in #905, after the owners graciously agreed to our request for a 4-night stay (shorter than their regular minimum). Never having been to Maui, we were bewildered by all the options - condo or hotel? On the beach (with the premium price to match) or up the hill (at a more reasonable price)? For this part of our stay, I'm glad we chose a condo up the hill. Ekolu Village is up the hill from the Shops at Wailea, in a quiet area overlooking a golf course. This unit had beautiful ocean views, close enough that we enjoyed gazing out at the sunsets, but far enough away from the beach that we were protected from some of the fierce winds that kicked up during our stay.

The unit was nicely appointed, with pretty artwork and furniture, nice dishes and pots/pans, very basic staples (one roll of paper towel, salt/pepper/spices, some condiments, laundry detergent), 2 bedrooms and 2 baths. It was more room than we needed, but with all of our stuff and the multiple showers per day the mix of SPF and beach sand caused, we were happy for the space. The resort area was very quiet - I really don't think we saw or heard another resident while we were there. The only people we saw were the landscapers (nice, polite) and a security guard (who knocked at our door at 8 PM one night asking who we were and how long we were staying - we told him through the closed door because we hadn't been told such a visit was a possibility and one can never be too careful).

We didn't use the pool, but only because Makena beach was a short drive away and so wonderful (access through the Makena Beach and Golf Resort). There are two pools on site, accessible with a key provided by the unit owners. The pool looked clean and inviting when we walked by one of them.

The owners also very kindly permitted a late check out when we asked because the unit was not booked for that evening, which permitted us an additional beach trip without having to leave all our stuff in the car. All in all, a very clean, enjoyable home away from home with a fabulous view, quiet surroundings, and comfortable bed and couches. (Another bonus was that the living room furniture was actual furniture - fluffy love seat, fluffy full-sized couch which is also a pull out...none of that uncomfortable, un-fluffy rattan-armed tropical-themed furniture which I personally find to be lacking at the end of an action-packed beach day when all I want to do after a nice shower is curl up in my jammies on the couch and watch the sunset).

A wonderful rental property and a great place to serve as your home base on vacation.

“First time renting a Condo on Vacation...Fantastic!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 24 May 2010

We (4 adults/2 toddlers) rented unit #808 because of it's 2 bedrooms with king size beds, ensuite bathrooms and private lanai's. The condo was perfect! From the breathtaking views to the heavenly beds this condo is fully stocked with everything you need for a fabulous vacation.

90% of the unit has been beautifully updated and decorated. The bathrooms are still dated but they are clean and well taken care of. The unit is located perfectly; you cannot hear any traffic noise and you have panoramic views from the main lanai. The pool is located next to the unit and you can easily walk to the shops at Wailea in approx 15 minutes.

We booked directly through the owner and had a very pleasant experience.

“Great condo option in Wailea - pick your unit location carefully”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 25 November 2009

We spent a great 2 weeks in unit #304 and would go back in a heartbeat. We booked directly with Destination Resorts Hawaii and were very pleased with the customer service from the reservation booking to after-hours check-in to the efficient check-out process. Everyone was friendly and seemed to genuinely want to make our vacation terrific. The unit itself was nice and comfortable. On the second floor, looking over the 15th hole of the Blue Golf Course, with a nice view in the distance of Molokini and the ocean, this is a one bedroom unit with two smallish bathrooms (but adequate for our purposes), insuite laundry, a slightly dated but fully equipped kitchen and a large living/dining area. The Destination Resorts provides room cleaning every 3 days and our unit included free phone calls to the Continental USA and Canada which was a nice perk. The only thing that was a bit disappointing compared with other properties we've stayed at was that the communal BBQs are not propane but require you to supply your own charcoal. We didn't see anyone using these BBQs the whole time we were there.
One more note, be very careful when selecting your unit at this property. Some of the buildings are very close to the main artery coming into Wailea from the Highway and would be quite loud with traffic noise. And some of the buildings are situated quite high on the slope so walking to the shops, beaches, other resorts, etc would be quite a hike. Building #3 was about a 10-15 min walk to all the other amenities of Wailea. The closest restaurants are Matteo's Italian which was a reasonable, casual Italian place (note: you place your order at the cashier and pay before getting a seat which was a bit unusual - they also do take-away for most menu items) and Joe's Grill which is located at the Wailea Tennis Centre across the street and offers a great menu in a casual atmosphere.

“Picture Perfect!”

We stayed in Unit #1406 at Ekolu Village for 12 nights. It was so amazing. We felt right at home. We loved having our own kitchen and washer and dryer in our unit. The codo has three lanai's. We spent almost every morning outside watching the sunset and drinking coffee. The views are spectacular and it is very quiet. Perfect stay. We hope to return to #1406 again someday.
