Stayed here over the Christmas weekend. Facilities were adequate but maintenance and supervision were lacking: Incredibly slow registration process (most could have been done in advance), some windows were stuck, assistance was required with toilets and hot water, gas stove was unstable, some water leaking under the kitchen sink. The beach hut that rents chairs and other beach equipment was closed all weekend, thus we missed renting kayaks and the like. That being said, the beach was beautiful and we were blessed with good weather, which was a big plus. The property has a lot of potential and I would really like to see improvement on the above items so that we may go back and enjoy our stay to the fullest.

I recently visited the parador with 3 friends. We reserved a 2 bedroom unit with kitchen. We arrived in the evening and check in was ok. We were assigned unit 27 and given directions. When we arrived at what we thought was our unit, we saw numbers 28 and 29 but no 27! We finally found someone and we were in the right spot, so we were in numberless 27. Our unit was on the main floor and there are 2 units above. We had 1 room with a double bed and 1 with 2 twins, both rooms with air conditioning and the beds were good. There is a large kitchen with a refrigerator, stove and plates/glasses/utensils for 4. A large table serves as a dining area and a quaint sitting area with a flat screen tv. Wifi is available and was reception in our unit was good. The best part is to walk out the back door to a nice verandah complete with table, chairs and some lounge chairs and the best view of Montones Beach! There are steps leading down to a gate with direct access to the beach. However, it is hit and miss if the gate is locked, but any of the workers will open it up. As I mentioned in the title, if you rented a house on the Jersey shore you will not be disappointed. If you are looking for luxury, you will not find it here. You get a decent unit on a great beach. Housekeeping is really up in the air. The only time they came to change the sheets and towels in 5 days was when we asked and after a leak from the until above that lasted 2 days.
The parador has about 30 units either single, or like the one we were in. Montones beach is beautiful and you are within a 5 minute drive to Jobos beach with Sonia Rican's beach bar (prices for drinks have gone up, and don't eat here it is too expensive!). Check out the Ocean Front Restaurant just past Sonia Ricans' for some great food. Take a trip into Isabela and try Panadaria El Trigal. For $5 you can get a great helping from their daily buffet. There is a restaurant on property called Mar y Arenas. We did each lunch there one day and it was lousy, plus the service is poor. All in all, a great place for a basic beach front property with a wonderful beach!

The cabins are nice and well furnished. Food at the Mar y Arenas restaurant was very bad. You would expect better food and variety. Do not take the offer that includes food, as you will be very dissapointed. I would have paid more for better food and service. Check out process was slow. I had to wait for 30 min, after notifying front desk. Eventually I was allowd to leave as there were no one available to inspect the room. It is a shame, since the place is located in a beautiful area.
