“Make sure your bathrobes are checked in before you leave”

The stay was ok until we got a call the following day saying we had taken a bathrobe from the room. Of course we did not take anything from the room that day and the cleaning ladies probably put the robe with the towels by mistake but our word is not worth anything to Auberge Godefroy. They actual just don't care! So it's a nice 100$ additional charge for something I don't have in my possession. Just be carefull when you leave to make sure you don't get billed an additional 100$ for nothing!!!

“Good food, good rooms, good service”

Auberge Godefroy is located in Becancour, just on the other side of the bridge from Trois-Rivieres (which is located midway between Montreal and Quebec City)

Although not a resort, this hotel offers different packages ranging from room only to all-inclusive, and also features spa treatment.

The front desk staff is very friendly and tried to do everything possible so that I can check-in early. The rooms are nice but not necessarily out of this world - as this hotel does not have strong competition in the area and is not located in a main tourist area.

The Auberge has a very good reputation for food. I had several meals at this hotel, including breakfast buffet, lunch buffet and sit-down dinner and all were above average.

WIFI is available and free of charge.

This hotel would be ideal for a weekend breakaway, a road trip stopover or just to get away a few days from the busy city action.

I attended a conference at this location and the conference facilities are also good.

Very nice rooms, great views of rural area surrounding hotel, lots of activities for young and old. Staff were very nice and eager to help. The grounds were very clean and eloquent. Pool side area was amazing, indoor pool and jacuzzi, as well as another pool and two more jacuzzis outdoors. If i return to the Becancour, Trois-Rivieres area I will be staying at the Auberge Godefroy !

“Nice but the location not the best”

The staff was very nice and very helpful. We stay in the executive suite and that was a very good choice. The rest of the hotel needs to be updated. The have fabulous room but need an update in the decor.

The food was excellent and the room was very clean. One recommandation would be to have a more lively bar at night because you are far from everything and there is not much to do at night in auberge.

They should spend a lite bite of money on a nice bar/lounge and would be very surprise how much money the clients would spend there. I don't mine to be far away but please give me something to do at nite.

“Not up to par”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 8 September 2008

This was a family reunion of four families with children, ages 3 to 8. The place seemed to have a winning combination for us: golf for the dads, spa for the moms and outdoor/indoor pool for the kids.

Sourroundings: The hotel is physically located in the middle of nowhere, on a field (no trees, no views but a couple of hydro lines and the highway). It's at the foot of the Laviolette bridge which goes into Trois-Rivières. It's so close to the St-Lawrence yet there is no water view.

Rooms: We stayed on the third floor, which was obvisouly a former smokers' floor (the hotel is now a smoke-free environment). The smell is very strong in the corridor. I thought it wasn't as bad in the room, but upon returning home, I realized all our clothes smelt like cigarette. Furniture and set up definitely don't have the upscale look the Auberge aspires to. Space is reasonable for 2 adults and 2 children. The premises were neat and clean.

Pools: The four-season pool: was supposed to be ready late August, then early September.., and it wasn't. It was quite a deception because it was one of the reason we had booked the hotel (the kids had been delighted by a previous experience at the Manoir Richelieu in Charlevoix and were really looking forward to this). The indoor pool was beautiful, and very warm.

Spa: It's small but nice. It's in the basement of the hotel so unfortunately, there is no exterior view to enjoy after your treatments. The staff is welcoming and cheerful. My massage therapist was wonderful!

Restaurant: We had booked an early evening reservation at 6:30, since we had children and were hoping to be out of there by 9. I've never experienced such SLOW service! It was a joke. Our server was amiable, but he seemed to be tending too many tables (we were a group of 15, they should have sent in some help). We orderd the food for the kids very early on and their plates didn't get to the table until 8:15 or so (by that time they were no longer hungry). Desert arrived around 10, and they could'nt even manage to serve everybody at the same time. I felt like they made us "pay" for bringing the kids! All in all, we got out of the restaurant at 10:30 pm. It turned out to be a lousy and much too expensive evening for what we payed. At check out, I told the clerk how bad the service was and she told me we were not the first ones to complain. As far as the smoke smell goes, she said they were in the process of redoing the rooms (the second floor has already been renovated).

Overall, the experience was not up to par. I definitely will not be returning and not be recommending this place. Much too expensive for what we got.
