My wife and I stayed in the Partridgeberry Room at the Rosedale in September of 2011 while we were exploring the Avalon Penninsula. We thoroughly enjoyed the experience.
We booked the Rosedale at the last minute and were told to pick up our keys at Phillips Cafe, run by the owners, two or three blocks from the Rosedale. We were treated to a delicious coffee and treats on our arrival. Shelley had a freshly baked Raspberry and Chocolate Chip muffin and I had a thick slice of fresh brown bread right out of the oven with Bakeapple jam - my fav.
The room is cozy and comfortable. The bed is great as are the linens. The house itself is cute and well located. Renovations that Phillip and Linda did were spot on. And, above all, it was spotless.
Probably the highlight was breakfast at Phillips the following day. The food never stopped coming and they even offered us a muffin to take along. Shelley had ham, eggs and potatoes and I had steel cut oatmeal with tons of fruit including freshly picked wild blueberries. The conversation with Linda and Phillip was great. They are truly warm and real.
Hint: You can buy a monogramed Phillips Cafe apron after breakfast with the skull and crossbones logo of the cafe - "Submit to your Cravings"
We would highly recommend the Rosedale and would be sure to return ourselves.
