If you want to embrace southern hospitality and at the same time, receive your own private piano concert, this is the place for you. With the lights dimmed, a glass of Merlot in hand, we were treated to a private concert of Brahms, Chopin, Debussey and others. Fabulous.
My husband and I stayed in the cottage and loved it. Comfortable bed, quiet and quaint.

Just got home from a 2 night stay at this B&B, and wish we could have stayed longer. So much history in the home and Joseph was the perfect host. The piano concert was amazing. Can't say enough good things about it. Beautiful!

What a magical night! Two friends and myself stayed at the Stone House this past weekend. Sharing a bottle of wine while listening to Joseph play the Mephisto Waltz was truly an memorable experience. Imagine a private concert for you and two close friends by an artist who’s played Carnegie Hall. We didn’t want the concert to end and Joseph kindly obliged with an encore.

The concert (which lasts about 45 minutes) is included with the reservation. Joseph told us he likes to start the concert sometime between 5 and 7pm but he’s flexible.

There are only two guest suites in the house. I slept in the comfortable cottage in the backyard which has two bedrooms and a shared bath. The Master bedroom in the main house has incredible antique furniture, lofty ceilings, a queen bed and a few single beds all in the same room, and its own bathroom. I’d recommend choosing the Master if it’s available. We were thinking about all sharing the cottage but when we saw the low prices we decided to rent both. It really is an amazing deal for what’s included…you’ll pay more for bland two star hotels. We could tell Joseph truly loves what he’s doing. If you like music or antiques or ancient maps or a taste of the antebellum life, check out the Stone House!

Also…we met some very friendly locals at the delicious Malt Shop (walking distance) and ate a gourmet reasonable priced meal at the Castle on Joseph’s recommendation.

We stayed in the cottage for New Year's weekend and we were delighted. The house and its proprietor, Joseph, are both warm, charming and delightful. Joseph is very congenial and is fantastic at making you feel welcome. The house holds many interesting artifacts, and is itself a piece of history. The piano performance was just outstanding. Joseph played numerous classical songs with fervor and grace and the wine and champagne were an added bonus. The city is quiet and historic. A perfect get away if you are looking for peace and quiet. The cottage was very warm, had great beds and facilities, and felt even better than home. Breakfast was a delight as well. We had great conversations, laughs, and smiles with the other guests and I would say that was my favorite part, interacting with the others and learning about someone else. And I can't say enough about Joseph. He is warm, knowledgeable, conversational and just a really great guy. Thanks Joseph!! We will be back! Eric
