Our trip to PA and NYC was cancelled because of the snowstorm, so we made last minute arrangements to visit the Natchez Trace Trail area and New Orleans. We called several historic inns and B&Bs and found Dunleith Plantation met our interests best and had 3 person accommodations as our teenage son was traveling with us. The grounds and facilities are beautiful and were very well kept. Our room was large, comfortable and clean, and had a gas fireplace. The staff were pleasant, helpful but not "everpresent" like we have found at other simiiar lodgings. The value was very reasonable at $135 per night which included a few breakfast at the Plantation's restaurant on the grounds.
The Plantation also offers free tours for guests of the public parts of the Mansion. The tour guide was very informative and entertaining. Dunleith is located in town, but sits on 40 acres. It is very convenient to everything, but you feel away from it all while there.
The only negative is that the facilities and lodging appeared that it would not be very accessible to persons with ambulation issues.
