“Excellent location with great service and Free Parking!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 8 February 2011

This hotel is excellently situated overlooking some of the runs and ski lifts. From our bedroom window we had a clear view of the mountain, complete with no unsightly hotels. A huge bonus would have to be the Free Parking, it is well worth booking here if you are driving as it enables the 20+euro's per day charge in the public car park to be abolished. Although at night time there is an approximate 10-15 minute walk (fully uphill on way back) to the main resort, in the day it is less than a 5 minute walk to the hotel ski lift, which is a big bonus. Also available is free use of a ski locker, enabling you to ski straight to the hotel door and leave it there within the hotel, without the need to traipse around the busy main resort.

“not a four star hotel”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 1 March 2010

Whilst this hotel is in a great setting and close to the slopes, we were overall quite disappointed. This is not a four star hotel. We had to ask at reception where the bar staff were on several occassions. The room wasn't cleaned unti 1.30pm and that was after complaining. The reception staff are very polite, but the rest of the staff are quite rude and not very helpful. The restaurant food was absolutely appauling and I noticed many of the guest sending their food back, myslef included. This could be a very good hotel with the right staff and a decent chef. Overall we felt we had paid five star prices for a three star hotel.

“Bed is better in jail”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 15 February 2010

How could this hotel being rated 4 stars????? Beds are better in jail. I was never in jail but I can assure you that this hotel has the cheapest mattresses you can find in Spain. We couldn't sleep on this stone. The following day on the slopes was a continuing nightmare as we were so tired after a sleepless night. UNACCEPTABLE! Such a bad experience, NEVER again

“Certainly not 4 star but great views of the piste”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 6 April 2009

Stayed here for one night and first room offered had a very smelly bathroom and no balcony although beds were a decent size. Changed rooms to one on 3rd floor with a balcony which had great views of the piste and town and was fairly spacious. When returning from skiing we discovered that the single beds were very small and only just 6ft long but couldn't be bothered to change again just for one night. I would have liked to used the jaccuzzi but not at 15 euros for half an hour. The paintwork was badly chipped in the room and the carpet had holes in it and generally the rooms were very tired looking.

On the good side the hotel looks attractive from the outside, in a very peaceful location, parking is free, it has a ski room, the character of the public areas is nice and you can ski back to the hotel. The breakfast was a very good continental breakfast with a varied choice of bread, croissants, cereal, jams, fruit, 3 types of meat, cheese, boiled eggs, Spanish omelette, yoghurts, juice etc so can't understand the previous review about the breakfast. It didn't offer bacon, sausage and egg but it is a Spanish run hotel in Spain ! The ski hire shop near the hotel was apparently more expensive than hiring in the town at Rio sports where we hired. A free hotel bus goes down to the main square about every hour but does not come back late and it is a long walk back up 4 flights of steps !

At present definitely not 4 star, perhaps 2/3 but could be lovely with an upgrade of the rooms. The deckchairs on the terrace shown in the photo were not there although it was a sunny day ! I would imagine that the lower floor rooms would have their view obstructed by the trees.

“Shame about the breakfast”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 20 February 2009

An alpine-style hotel on the edge of the slopes - ski in and out. The room was clean and adequate - you're never going to get much more in a cramped resort like this - and the price was fair - €95 a night including continental breakfast,

That is my only gripe. A meagre buffet, and you have to attract one of the over-worked waitresses to give you tea or coffee, which quickly runs out. I noticed several people came in, had breakfast, and left without being served at all.

The staff are pleasant and helpful, but you get the impression that nobody is directing them properly. A big plus was being able to park at the hotel for free. The local car parks are very expensive.
