There are many things to recommend about this motel: the nice person at check-in, the patio fireplace, the continental breakfast that wasn't all carbs, the book and video library (which I didn't use but appreciate none the less), reliable wifi, the fabulous on-site restaurant. However, for me, it was way overpriced. Maybe not for the neighborhood and probably not for a couple or a family. But I didn't feel that the room was worth the almost $200 per night that I paid. The furnishings were nice but the room felt a bit cramped because there was just too much furniture for the space. They get kudos for being of the few lodgings I've stayed at that actually meant what they said about their environmental policy (meaning they didn't change my linens when I asked them not too). But I just can't get beyond that room rate. Also, I have to knock them down a point because the process of making my reservation by phone was way less than stellar. I normally make all reservations online but the elderly friend I was there to visit had already made the reservation and I just needed to call them with my credit card number. What should have been a three-minute transaction took the better part of 15 minutes! Also, they sent a post-visit survey that I spent a great deal of time responding to yet they never responded to me!
