We stopped at the Holiday Inn Express at Keystone in the middle of winter, when it was one of only two hotels that seemed open. We thought that they might be expensive given there was nowhere else to go, but managed to score a two queen bed room for $70 + tax. I felt this was reasonable given the proximity to Mt Rushmore and the quality of the establishment. (I missed being able to get a $60 room on travelocity by a minute or two).
The room was nice and clean, seemed reasonably new, and didn't have that "motel" feel. The beds were very comfortable, and even had different pillows labelled firm/soft etc depending on your preference.
There was excellent wifi in the room (free), although the only criticism is that there was no in room fridge (I just feel this is a necessity for travellers).
The hot breakfast the next morning was of excellent quality, and a nice suprise.
I'd definitely recommend this property, and felt we got value for money.
