“Rainier Retreat”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 4 February 2012

We stayed 3 nights in the "Rainier Retreat" and what a treat it was. It's such a cozy little cabin and just perfect for a couple wanting a few nights of peace, quiet and romance. The cabin had everything we needed (except for a flat screen TV which it totally needs). We stayed in January 2012 and the snow, quiet, closeness to Rainier National Park, location to town and all the amenities in the cabin made it a very memorable trip. We will definitely be back and hope to experience some of the other cabins too. This place rocks!

Room Tip: For 2 people, the Rainier Retreat is the perfect size.

“Great little cabin in the woods!”

We stayed here in July 2011 for one week while my husband and his friend climbed Mount Rainier. What a find! Situated in the backwoods of Mount Rainier about 5 miles from the entrance to the park. This place had all that we needed except for cell phone service. But, who needs that when you are on vacation.

We stayed in Tamanos cabin. Jacuzzi, which we never used because we were so busy on the mountain. Fully stocked kitchen with everything we needed. There were also spices and popcorn, fresh coffee if you drink it and lots of other extras. The woodstove was full of wood and ready to light. This was the closest to the park, and we were out every morning heading into the park.
We will definitely stay here again. Great place!
By the way, the husbands did make it to the top of Mount Rainier!

“Great place to stay while exploring Mount Rainier NP”

We stayed here for a couple of days while exploring Mount Rainier National Park. We had the Songbird fireplace room which is real cosy. A great place to finish a long day of hiking. We enjoyed the fireplace a lot, each day we got new complimentary logs.

Make sure you ask the host about the few restaurants in town, there just a couple of them and she knows details about all of them.

“Fireplace room Wildbird”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 3 December 2011

Very quiet, peaceful, beautiful, and we were totally left alone which was our goal!!! The owners seemed to understand that is why we went. Nice folks. It is part of a triplex, and it is the end one closest to the main building, but we still had total seclusion. It is true it is between the parking area and the highway, but still extremely quiet. If you are looking for a total lost in the wilderness cabin, this isn't it, but if you are looking for a very reasonably priced place with a fireplace and a hot tub, and very clean, this is it. Very well appointed, everything you need.

“Fabulous!”

We stayed in "Big Creek" over the weekend with friends from out of town.
Not only was the hot tub ready for us, but the cabin was warm and cozy.
Luke and Tanna have paid attention to every detail.
Not only were there candles to light, and fire wood for the stove, but there was enough coffee in the morning for those of us coffee snobs to make three pots!!!!!
There were more than plenty of towels and washcloths and not only that, but extra pillows to snuggle with.
There was a book of the local hikes to mt rainier (we took advantage of a hike on Sunday) and lists of restaurants in the area too,
The beds were most comfy, the kitchen fully stocked and the directions easy to follow, we will be back!!!!
