“The perfect family holiday!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 10 October 2011

We spent a week at Pollaughan with our 2 ½ year old twins and another family and had the loveliest holiday.

Tim and Valerie have thought of everything and have created holiday cottages which are perfect for young families (and child-free families alike!). We stayed in “Meadows” which was equipped with cots, monitors, highchairs, toys, books, ride-ons and a trampoline which meant that we didn’t have to think about taking anything like that with us.

Every morning at 9am we would go with “Farmer Tim” as he is now affectionately known… and fed the goats, chickens, ducks and pigs. We would collect eggs for breakfast too which was a lovely way for the kids to start the day.

Pollaughan Farm is ideally situated close to a lovely sandy beach and very easy to get to all the favourite spots in Cornwall.

I can’t imagine finding another holiday cottage in Cornwall of such high standards and would not hesitate to return next year.

Wow, thankyou so much for taking time to write us such a glowing review...here at Pollaughan we really care deeply about making sure our visitors have the best time possible and try to make everything just as we would want it when we go on holiday with or without children... so its really really heartening when we receive such great feedback.... thankyou and keep an eye on our Facebook Page for news of the Cornwall Tourism Awards 2011 as we have just heard we are in the top three for Self Catering this year !

“Perfect place to unwind”

This place is amazing. The cottages were clean and had everything you would expect from a self catering cottage. The owners are incredibaly friendly and always went out of there way to help and offer advice on what to do. The children loved as they went out every morning with 'Farmer Tim' to feed all the animals and came back with a fresh egg for there breakfast. Very well situated in Cornwall to go most places for a day out. Don't forget to use the King Harry ferry at least once

“Simply the best holiday destination in the UK...”

Having vowed I would never return to the same place twice, we're now spending our 4th holiday in a row at Pollaughan Farm. It is, quite frankly, perfect. The cottages are well designed, practical, spotlessly clean and contain everything you need plus a bit more. The location is perfectly peaceful and rural, while within easy travelling distance of a whole host of places to visit on days out. Tim and Valerie are the perfect hosts - available for any small request you may have. Or in our case, a major request such as catering for a picnic and BBQ for 26 people at our wedding last year! Our guests are still talking about how wonderful Valerie's food is and you can experience it yourself as you can order home-cooked meals to be delivered to your cottage in the evenings.
Our 4 yr old son has loved this place since he was 18 months old, especially the daily animal feed which gives harassed parents 30 minutes of peace at the start of the day!

I always begrudge writing fabulous reviews of this place as I worry it will make the place even more booked up than it already is and we'll struggle to get in... but Tim and Valerie deserve every bit of praise I can give them!! If you're looking for a self-catering holiday in the UK, you'd be mad to book anywhere else.

Stayed in Meadows for 5 days, and it was just perfect! beautiful setting, incredibly comfortable accommodation. own garden area to relax in in evenings, with lots of friendly animals to provide amusement. would be great for children but we just went as a couple - it was ideal as a mini-break. lots of lovely walks nearby, with pub + shop only about a mile away, tennis court on site, + everything you could possibly need in the cottage (even jacuzzi bath!). would definitely recommend for anyone who wants a relaxing, chilled out break. very friendly/helpful owners too.

“Our favourite place in the UK. Fabulous.”

We went here for a week last June with our 4 year old son and I can honestly say it is one of the best holidays I have ever had. The accommodation is lovely, a whole house to yourself, fully equipped and with some lovely extras (log fire, toys for the kids, DVDs to watch, complete kitchen, private garden). Tim and Valerie are brilliant hosts and could not do enough and Valerie is a great cook. If you go be sure to order some meals, to have them brought to your cottage is such a treat, you can get a bottle of wine and have a night in with no cooking. The children love it too, they collect eggs in the morning, feed the animals, play on the ride on toys, jump on the trampoline and wander freely round the farm. It was so good we booked again to go this year and can't wait. I have never looked forward to a holiday in England so much. Thank You Tim and Valerie and see you in June. For those reading, if you can get in (it does get fully booked) please give it a go. This place is what real holidays are about.
