“Good location”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 7 November 2011

We come back from Marty few weeks back ,the hotel was very clean the staff happy to help
but they are fiew thinks personal i don't like. For example you have to pay for orange juice 5 liras a glass big size you have the free one but no juice mix with water beakfast lots of choice but not beak beens, snack bar are good it is the only time you can have chips they don't serve chips in the main restauran , food is good not superb we have to eat out copola days just breakfast so we can eat foul english as the hotel not provied bacon and sausage, bar for drinks is only one on site and for all inclusive they only served local vodka and copola more drinks very disappointment entertaiment very good. Do not book trips with the rep. very expensive, chip out side from the hotel in the kiosks all they do the same trips. PS the rep. gives you the star trip( all in.) just to go around the sea don't ever docking.Icmeler is good place very clean people with soaps are ok, the hotel have its own beach with sunbeds free

Room Tip: When we arrived at the hotel was 4am as we have night flight they give as a room on the top floor w...

“The worst ever!”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 6 November 2011

We stayed in the last week of October, arriving in the early hours of 23/10. We had a comfort break about 50 minutes into a 90 minute transfer during which the rep got off and returned 15-20 minutes later with a hot dog and chips! Full marks however for trying to sell bottles of water at 2 for a £1

We got up to late breakfast, supposedly from 10:00am expecting a "continental" breakfast to find the toaster off, most food packed away and the serving spoons removed. This was the pattern for the whole week. There was no orange juice because it was winter?? The following day, we tried earlier - the same problem. Guest relations were advised again but it made little difference.

Our room was too warm to sleep- daytime temperatures were above 30C and the air was turned off...because it was winter. Allegedly they did get the aircon on one day...during the day when we were out??

On the Monday evening what can only be described as a fight took place in the room above. At 2am after a couple of hours of shouting, swearing and furniture crashing about we called reception...nothing we can do. (Probably because it was winter)

The hotel is so tired it is almost fast asleep. Carpets are dirty and the rooms are at the best basic. The pool towels are so thin...some date back to 2003! It is NOT a 4 star hotel.

The food was appalling and even though not a picky eater, there was little to choose from. Kidneys were served one day that a moderately competent vet could have got going again. Most annoying were the feral cats that were allowed to roam in the dining room, including on table tops.

Coffee is served from poor quality machines. The was a button for latte, but you guessed it - no latte. Probably because it was winter! The hot chocoalte was off too. Probably because....

The Turkish coffee in the longe was clearly only there to serve the needs of the staff.

As it was Winter, the hotel was packing up. No a la carte, the snack bar closed on the Tuesday. We were told snacks were available in the restaurant...no they were not. The outside bar started to close down about Wednesday - no orange juice, no sprite.

The standard of service was basic. Some staff were smiling and friendly but not the "older" one in the restaurant for whom guests were clearly little more than a nuisance. He delighted in switching off the toaster at 9:50am and removing the serving spoons.

Basic service, because getting cutlery or a drink was the limit of the service. There were lots of tip boxes around - mostly empty. I wonder why?

We had no top sheet on the beds till Wednesday. On Thursday the top sheet was left folded in a fancy design on top of the "blanket" for us to make the bed up!

Finally, we were told on the Friday that the hotel was closing Saturday 29/10. The hotel manager advised us that Thos Cooks knew 3 weeks earlier. The rep was adamant she only found out that day??

We had to move to another property up the road to use the facilities. We could have kept our room at the la Perla until lunchtime 29/10 but would be unable to use the hotel facilities!

By 5pm on the 29th, the beach was cleared, the staff were sitting outside the hotel and steel fencing was erected around it. Such activity does confirm the manager's comments that the closure was planned.

Fortunately we found a restaurant up the beach that served good food, the Coco Beach which we would recommend. We ate there most evenings.

All in all an extremely disappointing place. The resort is good, the beach good and we would probably return to the resort. There is NO chance we would return to the La Perla.

“Great staff team”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 30 October 2011

The hotel was very clean and up to date in all communal areas, good size pool with water slides only issue with this was it was not heated and so no guests made use of it after their first dip, what a shame and waste of what could have been a great facility to the hotel. The room was on the 3rd floor and had lift access so this was not an issue for guests with mobility issues. The staff team were very friendly and did their best to accommodate the guests, they were great. The location of the hotel was superb right on the beach and within easy access of the local amenitites, plenty of sunbeds available and the beach area was kept very clean.
We arrived at 5am and were checked into our room quickly, no waiting about. The room while clean was disappointingly small, the T.V was an old portable, not a flat screen as you expect from a modern hotel, we could only find news chanels that were in english and there were no facilities to make a brew in the room which is the first thing you want when you arrive.
When we unpacked and went downstairs for breakfast, we were asked by the customer service man in the hotel if everything was ok. We informed him of these minor issues and he said he would sort things out. This did not happen. The meals were severed buffet style and there was plenty of food available and as the dishes were emptied they were quickly replenished so you did not go hungry at meal times. This hotel was all inclusive, but it was restricted as mealtimes were set and snacks were only served at certain times of the day. Tea and coffee were the only items available 24/7. The most important thing that we had an issue with was, as it was coming to the end of the season, the staff were finishing and going home so the hotel was being run on a skeleton staff team, everything was being packed up around us including the bar, this did not affect me personally as I dont drink but it did impact on the other guests staying and my partener, also there was less and less choice as each day went by, it became more and more like self service, some guests were booked to stay longer and were having to pack up and move to another hotel part way through their stay, some these guests had children too. [ not good, having to pack / unpack twice and move during a holiday]. Having said all of this I would return to this hotel again, however I cant wait for the return response to this , as it is always the same. " thanks for staying at Marti la perla, we look forward to seeing you again ". The response's are never individualised to address your personal issues.

Room Tip: ask for sea veiw room and make sure the air con is available and turned on , as the hotel had turned...

“Thanks Cihan and Husain and all staff.”

Just came back from Marti la Perla. stayed there 1 week and enjoyed very minute. The staff is very friendly and smiley. The food was good and they tried to vary it every day. and again the staff very pleasant and eager to help. Unfortunately the snack bar and pizza was closed last days, which was disappointing,We walked along the beach to Marmaris and could not find any better beach than Marti's one
As it was the end of the season , it was very quiet. Shops were empty and the shopkeepers were a bit too pushy, trying to sell anything before closing.
We are already missing Marti la Perla and especially new "friends" - Cihan and Husain - the bar guys , who were very friendly, polite ,funny and attentive to everyone. They made our son's (15) stay much more enjoyable, making jokes and teasing him nicely.
we enjoyed very much.thanks
.
