We stayed for seven nights. On the surface the hotels in good condition and generally the public areas are.
However the room was not firstly there was a huge step up to the bathroom for no apparent reason. Bedding and towels were not changed until I asked. When it rained the water seeped in under the windows and the laminate floor squelched and became slippery. There were cockroaches and other running insects when you turned the lights on at night. Plus points were working hairdryer, hot water whatever the time of day, and lots of sockets for charging the obligatory gadgets!!
We were all inclusive however the food was poor, there are only so many differently styles to cut a cucumber that does not make it any more varied!. The hot food was bland, it was randomly mixed, and sadly even at the start of lunch nearly cold. The Turkish offerings were very poor and the rest worse.
What was most perturbing was that what AI should have meant was not available for example Tea between 16.00-16.30 cakes were offered on only two occasions and ice cream ‘had finished’. The coffee was awful and taken advice from tea drinkers this was even worse. The beer was alleged to be Efees, sadly that was vile and the wine was like vinegar. We ate 3 breakfasts and 1 dinner oh and 6 chips once lunchtime.
Well it was nearly the end of the season however whether the first or last guest there you should get the same service. Staff chose to start cutting with welding gear an iron cover close to the pool one afternoon when guests were sat there, they were clearly oblivious to us relaxing and talking.
We had a later flight and we had had two rooms for our stay there was no courtesy room offered to us but we kept one room on from noon until 7.00pm for £15 English pounds, which was extortion. This is the first time I have never even been offered a shower room.
All in all I would not advise staying at the Alinda – there is far better available with not such a glossy outside but good basic food and service.
photos will be added.
Room Tip: Front are over the pool, bar or road. Rear is quieter views of mountains.
