“Well placed”

This is still a great little hotel and well placed at the quieter end of the beach. I like the fact that is not for kids and the beach is a nicer place to be. The staff although rotating from a sister hotel are always friendly. The food although just a bit repetitive is well presented and beautifully cooked. It is clean, quite and just a nice place to be. This was my 3rd time here but sadly I could not get booked for October as it was fully booked, perhaps I should not write how good it is :-)

Room Tip: If you can get a beach view

Me and my partner stayed here for one week from 22 August half board, this was unfortunate because we had wished to of stayed longer. The drive from the airport was really long and tiresome and involved a 2hr coach ride then a 30min taxi ride to Icmeler in the early hours. Saying that we were greeted to this stunning 4 star hotel overlooking the bay. We could not believe how gorgeous it looked, a stark contrast to the hotels we had passed by in Marmaris.

The hotel porter was really friendly and approachable in showing us to our room and where things were. As we checked in at around 04:30 we missed breakfast so instead used the poolside snack bar for refreshments. Here we greeted by Hassan who immediately made us feel welcome with his rendition of ‘you’ll never walk alone’ and other charms. The hotel and facilities are really good quality, the spa where we had our 1st and 2nd Turkish bath was brilliant. A typical Turkish bath included time in the sauna or on the bath slab to warm up, followed by scrubbing with soap & peeling, massage, then hot & cold water to rinse off, this is followed by relaxation in a quiet room sipping apple tea to detox, a face mask and a final full body massage with body oils. Compared to UK this is really cheap, costs the same as a standard 30min back massage, so go get one!

The surrounding area is really pleasant; we tended to walk in the evening as we arrived during a heat wave. There are your usual fool’s gold shops you find abroad but a few little gems of bars and restaurant’s dotted around. Our favourite was a small bar adjacent to the 5 star hotel which played live music in the evening and served the best Efes beer in proper ice cold beer glasses. It only takes 30mins to walk around the side of the bay where there is a karaoke bar that was brilliant fun. As we just wanted somewhere to chill out we tended not to venture into the bar that played eardrum bursting tunes. If you want to venture into Marmaris it’s apparently an hour walk or a quick bus ride.

Back to Fantasia, the evening meals are exquisite, there ‘IS’ a wide selection of foods available, we thought of a very high standard. For example a variety of traditional Turkish dishes of chicken, fish, beef, pork, and roast vegetables. Furthermore there were a selection of salads, fruits and pastries on offer for desert. Breakfast was equally gorgeous, again a selection of hot foods, sausage, bacon, eggs, beans, fried tomatoes, mushrooms, ect and cereals and fruit. We stocked up sharpish before our departure in the morning and gave a final farewell.

Food was complimented by superb service from the hotel staff. The staff that stood out where Hassan and ….. who I can’t remember but looks Ryan Stiles. The waitresses who aren’t too fluent in English but who do all work really hard and long shifts which we noticed in seeing to our needs. One thing that we though a brilliant idea was the guy on the guitar playing during meal time. He was really talented playing acoustics that had passers buy looking over. Evening entertainment by the pool bar changed night by night, sometimes a performer on mic and one other traditional Turkish dancers who gathered a crowd. We thought that to entice more people to the hotel to maybe open up the evening bar for passers by so not just exclusive to hotel guests. The holiday was just what we needed and exceeded our expectations, we could not fault this hotel and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves.

We saw this hotel when we walked here from Marmaris this Summer. We liked the look of it & so we booked a week from the 17th October to celebrate our 30th Wedding Anniversary. The day we arrived it was raining!!!. Imagine our thoughts. We got up the next day to find warm sunshine & a clear blue sky & it was the same for the whole week. Every day it got warmer reaching a top temp of 32c. At night it ranged from 12c to 19c.
We had room 210 with a fantastic seaview. It was cleaned to a very high standard every day which is reflected througout the hotel. We did not use the minibar.
The lounge & inside Bar area needs to be a bit more inviting & we did not see the shop open.
We stayed on half board & the food at all times was plentifull, varied & very good. The omlettes & fried eggs cooked to order are fab. Try the yogurt with honey on, yummy.
Located on the Beach, which is always well kept with towels supplied, you can have drinks & snacks brought from the bar.
Most of the bars & restaurants in Icmeler were still open late. We went to the Venice bar ( beside the canal ) where the staff were very friendly & dancing late evening, with a few acts brought in as well, great atmosphere.
We also went to the Istanbull bar who cooked a wonderfull meal for our anniversary of Sea Bass cooked in rocksalt, see restaurant review.
We loved Icmeler with all its bars & restaurants & are planning to return next Summer, hopefully to the Fantasia.

Room Tip: Book a seaview

“Perfect chill-out holiday!”

We went for a week at the end of Setember 2011, second stay at Fantasia, third in Icmeler, and we loved it! The location is the best in Icmeler - just off the main road at the front and virtually on the beach at the back, with the most spectacular views over the bay, and far enough away from the centre to avoid the worst of the ear-battering discos. The sea is just ridiculously blue - like an exaggerated picture postcard! Swimming in the sea is heaven, with towels provided, and the pool is also good - long enough to swim in properly if you want to. Food is very good - not always 5*, but then we weren't paying 5* prices, but a lovely selection at breakfast - the usual yogurts, cheeses and meats, salad, different breads, plenty of fresh fruit as well as hot dishes and a chef cooking eggs to order. Dinners always good, with plenty of choice, hot and cold, plus delicious desserts and fresh fruit, although my meat-eating partner was hoping for more lamb on the menu! Also, dinner was improved by the entertainment - a very skillful guitarist/singer with a lovely voice and good selection of material - very tuneful and not intrusive. The 'no food and drink from outside' policy is a bit of a nuisance, but we did bring in water from the nearby supermarket, in a big bag so that it wasn't obvious. Cleanliness was excellent, staff friendly and helpful without being horribly ingratiating. And the 'Adults only' policy is very welcome!
All in all, excellent value for a really relaxing holiday - highly recommended.

Room Tip: All the rooms seem very good - most have a sea view.

Thomson Airways let us down badly. 21 hours 8 mins. delay from Cardiff . 12 hours stuck in the airport, nightmare. Part sent down from Luton did not work. Spare plane flown down from Manchester next day.
We stayed at The Fantasia last year, nothing has changed. Hotel in lovely location directly on the beach. Only trouble with this hotel is the restaurant. Salad & desert bar good, Hot buffet not very good. At breakfast strong aroma of pile cream due to elderly clientele staying here.
We ate out for 4 dinners and two breakfasts. The Chef, The Love Boat and, Champagne and Cafe Delmar restaurants. The Chef Restaurant we thought was the best but the rest were very good.
