My third trip to Turkey and on a budget. The Hotel looked a bit scruffy from the outside but the rooms, pool and bar and very much the same as any other in this price range. The thing that lets this family run hotel down is the lack of customer service. When we check in there was no ‘hello, welcome, breakfast is at….etc.
When I asked at the reception why the A/C did not work, I was told it was an extra £25 for the week. I ordered a beer at the bar and when I was charged 11 lire instead of the 4, I was told that the charge was for the internet that I thought was complimentary in the reception. I complained that there should be a sign stating this either by the computer or in the welcome guide (which was useless) but to no avail.
There was only one member of staff that smiled and that was Michael or Mad Mick as he was known by. The hotel is central for the main town which is just a five minute walk from the main street. The hotel would great for groups of males / females but if I was a family or a couple and could afford the more up market and quieter Oluz Deniz , I would. At least there, the cockerels don’t keep you up all night.
