“Nice attractive hotel, but overpriced”

This hotel has a welcoming lobby and lovely pool area. We (2 adults + 2 kids) were welcomed with a lovely glass of Cava and orange juice for our kids (no choice of drink). Staff were polite but direct. We chose here as we were moving on to a villa closeby and it had the most facilities. Unfortunately, we had to book two rooms as the hotel would not allow us have two children in one room with us (one child aged 13), even though the two queen-size beds would easily have accommodated us. This, unfortunately, made our stay relatively expensive. When booking, we had requested interconnecting rooms, one to be a king-size bed and the other two queens, but we ended up with two queens each. :(

Dinner on one night was part of a live entertainment evening, with a themed buffet dinner. Sangria was included in the overall price but it depended on how often you could get your waiter's attention to pour you some, which was very infrequent in our case (maybe there's a trick to that?)! This meant no-one was in any danger of over-indulging, that's for sure! Buffet was a good standard and suited our kids well. Entertainment was a magic show, which was good for little kiddies but that's about it - didn't last very long. As far as I can recall, this cost €35 per adult approx. (On check-out we were being charged for 4xadults but it was corrected when we pointed it out).

Breakfast is also buffet style, with tons of choice, spanish style and some more traditional european breakfast fare, very nice. We usually enjoy a good coffee on the continent but breakfast coffee was not good here.

Internet in the lobby was very hit and miss. At the time we tried to use it, it was disconnecting constantly. However, when I asked at Reception after (another) failed attempt, the receptionist kindly allowed me to use their business suite free of charge. Very nice of them, I thought... but if the service connected fine there, why it was so unreliable out in the lobby...?

We had been given two Spa passes "included in rate" (as we were disappointed with the rate for two rooms for 2+2) but we found it quite difficult to get a booking at a suitable time... also this meant we could not go together, as we needed to take turns to mind the kids. We didn't try the golf - course looks very scenic but book a slot as early as possible for a milder time of day. Club-house has nice area to have a drink and people-watch. ;)

The hotel rooms are a very good standard, lovely fittings, comfy beds, well finished. The common areas are nice but, as some guests have mentioned, a bit tired in places, especially in the lobby/lounge area. They should really be on top of this a bit more. Few facilities for kids such as pool table etc but equipment was well worn. Kids' Club available but not sure what the cost was as we weren't there long enough to avail of it.

Overall, this is a good hotel, in a lovely location (need a car), although a bit over-priced. Staff were professional and quite efficient but could probably afford to be a little friendlier - wouldn't cost anything!

Room Tip: Overlooking golf course or pool probably a bit nicer...

“Comfortable”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 31 January 2012

The location was ideal for a one night stop over as we were on route from Valencia to Malaga. Located not too far from the motorway - some signs for the hotel would be useful - (the Tom Tom took us down a long small rough track/road from Valencia end) however the setting is peaceful and quiet and overlooking countryside.

The rooms have nice furnishings and are large and comfortable - two small size double beds. Some things do need updating ie: shower curtain above the bath for a shower screen. We were on the 2nd floor - carpark side and it was very quiet, we did not hear a thing also no noise from other guests in the hotel in the corridors.

The staff are friendly. We would use it again. We ate in the restaurant and the food was 'ok' but not worth the money, in future we would just have a pizza.

“Lovely hotel”

The moment we arrived we realised we were in for something special. The entrance and lobby is superb and to sit & enjoy a coffee or drink and tapas in the lounge overlooking a striking pool and golf course is just heaven. We thought the rooms of very high quality and beds very comfortable. In all a lovely hotel and although we didn't eat a main meal in the hotel the tapas were excellent. The golf course is quite difficult but well worth playing but book ahead for a decent tee time. Lovely to play a game of golf and go back to the hotel spa, in all a very enjoyable time and will definitely go back again. A car is essential as hotel is between Denia and Javea and 15 mins away from each town.

“Lovely Resort - Not So Easy to Find”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 19 January 2012

We stayed 8 nights at this resort situated in a rural area. Golf course on premises - I'm not a golfer so can't comment but lots of golfers were there. Very nice rooms, nicely appointed. Great workout facility, also spa available. The breakfast buffet was awesome - so many choices and all very good. Staff was a pleasure to work with - always helpful, from the front desk staff to the housekeeping staff. Beaches are about 15 minutes to Denia and 20 minutes to Javea. The hotel is hard to find, get specific directions from the hotel. Our GPS took us on some very narrow, rural roads and the hotel address (per our GPS system) was several hundred yards from the actual location. Also, restaurants other than hotel require transportation (for example, to Denia or Javea). Will gladly go back again!!

“Friendly and Enjoyable”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 3 January 2012

The hotel building and reception area is striking, but after this it is easy to start noticing its negative points. However, after 5 days here over New Year, we have thoroughly enjoyed ourselves and those negatives became unimportant, we have had a good, comfortable time. The staff have been polite, friendly and helpful. We came here to visit my partner's ill mother in Denia - so are not the hotel's usual type of guests, yet we chose it as we hoped that off-season as a golf hotel it would be busier than others and this proved correct.

The New Year party was surprisingly good, well organised and up-market and although we were the only English speakers on our table we had a really fun time - it was also good all-inclusive value - we enjoyed the opportunity to dance to a wide variety of music. The food was excellent - all 6 courses. The food in general at the hotel has been very good and really rather tasty.

The hotel is clean and smells nice, the bed was comfortable. My first review was longer and more detailed, but due to inconsistent wifi connection, I lost it! However, unlike other comments on-line it is free and is available throughout the hotel. The negatives include: the furnishings are a bit tired, some things ideally should be mended and replaced, the water pressure is so low that it is hard to get wet in the shower and the bath takes an age to fill. However my partner managed to hit a few golf balls and the spa looked good, but was fully booked. We enjoyed our walk to Jesus and had some tapas there.

We would certainly come back and had a really good time here. It was also good value for money.

Room Tip: The Golf View rooms are away from the main road and while parking is visible from the rooms, the fur...
