I was there for a week on business. The hotel is older, but well maintained. The room was very small but did it's job. The lighting in the room was dim, but warm. The bed, pillows, and sheets were crisp and clean. There was a desk with a leather work chair , and an easy chair. There was a fridge and micro, and a coffee maker with coffee and tea. This was a comfortable stay, but admittedly, it is time for a makeover. Honestly, fresh paint and carpet would do wonders. I did see one bug in the bathroom, but it was the only bug I saw all week. I only had time for the breakfast once, but for a hotel breakfast it was good. Cheese omelets, biscuits, sausage, sausage gravy, pastry, etc. A juice machine with five or so choices including cranberry (yum).
As far s the service, it was great. I'm a platinum elite with IHG. When I got there everything had already been done, I just had to sign. There was a greeting card from the hotel sales manager, and in the room were a couple of bottles of water and a bag of pretzels and package of popcorn. These little things do make you feel like your brand loyalty matters.
Overall value for the money... Well, it was overpriced, but all Holiday Inn properties seems to be. The cost was around $120 plus per night. I would have felt it was more appropriate for about $89.
The location was good too, with a KFC, Taco Bell, and Bob Evans across the parking lot, and a new Red Robin across the street. Also, the mall is only about a quarter of a mile away.
