“We will return to Hollerstown Hill B&B”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 11 December 2011

My wonderful husband and I had a lovely stay at the Hollerstown Hill Inn. The decor is very Victorian, cozy and comfortable. The innkeeper has an extensive collection of dolls and ceramic figures on display. There's a terrific billiards table in the parlor. The house is lovingly cared for and furnished.

Our room was large with an ensuite bathroom. Our only complaint is that the corner sink is quite small...but that is a minor matter. The mattress was comfortable and our room overlooking the backyard was very quiet. The room has a lovely balcony that would be a great place to relax in warmer weather. There is free wireless and a TV...which is totally unnecessary, but nice to have during football season. Breakfast was plentiful and so nicely served. The meal was similar to what I would serve for a Sunday Brunch. Coffee was superb. Oh yes, there's wine, beer and other beverages in the refrigerator near the dining room. A very welcomed touch. The innkeepers are very friendly and knowledgable of the area.

Our mission for the visit to Frederick was dinner at Volt....an easy walk from the inn. There's great antique shopping and many dining venues in the downtown area. I hope we can return there soon.

Room Tip: Our room overlooking the back yard was very quiet. The other rooms we saw were very nicely furnis...

“Comfortable Stay - Creepy Dolls”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 9 August 2011

The room was very spacious and the mattress and bedding were quite comfortable. Phil and Betty are very pleasant people. A little on the talkative side, but we aren't much for socializing in the morning. The house is a short walk to down town and parking was very easy. The only negative from our end was the dolls. Holy cow, if you have any bit of a "Chuckie" phobia, be warned. A little creepy.

“Very pleasant.”

Our room was very nice. The mattress was firm, which gave us a good nights sleep. It was very hot outside, but the house was comfortably cool. Phil and Betty are very nice and friendly people! So pleasant ! Dogs not yappy at all! I saw one review that complained about the number of dolls and other decor. Well, it is decorated for the period, big deal. The place was clean; the porch very inviting. The breakfast was a bit too sweet for me and my husband; sweet homemade pastries, a pancake/turkey sausage casserole was sweet with little sausage. The peach/strawberry smoothie was delicious (after a long night of wine and dining, it was refreshing) Coffee excellent. We will be back!

Room Tip: The house and rooms are great!

“A nice quiet getaway!”

The inn hosts Phil and Betty were wonderful. Breakfast was served on antique dishware and was presented beautifully! My husband and I visited for a short trip on our own and It couldn't have been a better choice. They provide a pool table for guests and on a particulary rainy day we took advantage of using it. Their inn is within walking distance to restaurants and shops. We also walked to a Frederick Keys baseball game and watched the fireworks afterwards. I would reccommend this B&B to any couples who just need some me time without the children.

Room Tip: Our stay was in the Cannon room nicknamed for the civil war of the blue and the gray. All four rooms...

“Great location, friendly proprieters, nice accommodations”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 13 June 2011

The Hollerstown Hill B&B could not be better located. About a 10 minute walk to the main strip in Frederick, in a quiet residential neighborhood. The proprieters could not have been friendlier. The room was a good size, and everything was very comfortable. The bathroom was a bit small, but workable.
I would definitely recommend this to anyone visiting Frederick.
