no doubt. should you travel around les Catedrais you gotta pay a call to this house. Maria Rosa will treat you the best she can with all sorta info about Ribadavia and the rest of Galiza. packed with a myriad of details it'd be reasonable to spend at least a couple of days. the garden, rooms, halls... all is furnished with a high level of quality. being nestled in the middle of nowhere, it's tough to locate it, but once you've found it you'd never want to leave. congrats, Maria Rosa for making us feel like we were at our own home

This property is located 10 minutes outside of the town of Ribadeo. I had planned to have dinner at the property but received an email a few days before my stay from the owner, Maria, saying that due to an accident she could not provide meals.

The location is quiet and there is a nice terrace area. I followed one of the staff into town and went to a market where I bought the makings of a picnic. Maria had the staff set up a table on the terrace and plate my picnic. It was a nice do-it-yourself dinner.

So the good. Friendly and accommodating staff. Clean rooms. Television but no English speaking channels. Wi-Fi.

The not so good.

Maria is a smoker and the entire first floor smells heavily of cigarette smoke. I would not enjoy any of those spaces.

The website also touts their breakfast which I found to be very unremarkable. My table was set for two and the portions where small - even for one. Two pieces of ham, a few pieces of cheese. A glass of orange juice. Some bread. Very limited compared to almost every other breakfast I had in Spain during this three week trip.

the owner and host maria rosa was wonderful, very friendly and helpful.
the hotel itself is beautiful with individual rooms and 2 lovely lounges to relax in before and after a marvelous dinner prepared by maria. it felt like home !!

I would recommend this country house for a stay in the area of Ribadeo - the area is beautiful on the coast and estuary. The rooms are nicely decorated in rustic style and the house throughout is very tastfully renovated. There were two areas that could be improved and that is that the double bed we had was rather small (although obviously I can't speak for all the rooms) and also that there are no menus showing prices for meals or drinks, apart from a wine list. The owner who cooks very well, tells you what is available and you choose, but it would be a simple matter to write it up daily with some indication of prices. The views are delightful with mountains in the distance and pine forests nearby. Sadly the telescope which is mentioned in the hotel details, was not working when we were there!
