we drove from LA via Ontario shopping mills to Las Vegas and stayed overnight in Barstow.

it was a bit of a shock at the small size of the town - in the middle of nowhere almost and i wondered if we had made a bad mistake.

the hotel was clean and neat - certainly nothing you would find in the pages of a glossy travel brochure but it was fine.
it was neat and clean.
beds were comfortable.
there was a fridge in the rooms which was great.
there was also a very basic brekkie with some pastries and juice and hot tea or coffee.

only a few mins drive to some really good outlet mall shopping.

we dined at the asian restaurant/diner next door and it was good food.

for a one night stay to break the drive - this was perfect

Room was horrible ! Neibourhood terrible.
Started ac and received a load of dust. Pool dirty. Room was "remodeld" but you coudln't see it. We stayed for three hours and deceided to leave.

The room was good and so was the location of the hotel. The staff was nice. The only thing that was disappointing was the breakfast. Could have provided a better continental breakfast. Apart from this I have no complaints. Would definitely stay there next time if I travel through that place.

Having tried a number of Motels etc near the large shopping mall and being quoted very expensive rates for what is, basically, a town on route to Vegas with nothing else going for it we went into the Main Street and were pleasantly surprised to find this comfortable, cheap motel ($50) with good sized room and bed, clean and comfortable and pleasant staff. A perfectly acceptable place to get some rest and move on. You wouldn't spend a week here but we were passing through on the way to Vegas and it did the job well.
