An excellent hotel with friendly and helpful staff. The room (no 3) was very good (converted stables) with wet room bathroom and stylish fixtures and fittings. The breakfast was excellent and it was a short walk down into town for the evening. Three beaches are just about walking distances but I would suggest a taxi ride (20 euros) back as it is up hill. We did eat in the evening but if the breakfast was anything to go on then it will be good. The only downside was that it did not have a pool otherwise it would have been 5stars.

My husband and I just returned from a 4 night stay at the Hotel Galena Mas Comangau, and it was by far our favorite part of our trip to Spain. The hotel is a converted farmhouse, and is charming in every way. We found all of the staff to be very friendly and helpful, especially the owner, Miguel, and his nephew, Ramon, who both recommended the best beaches and sights to see in the area. The town of Begur is beautiful, and about a 5 minute walk from the hotel, and Begur is surrounded by beautiful beaches. That being said, our favorite part of the hotel was the breakfast and the restaurant - it was some of the best food we had in Spain! I loaded my plate every morning with excellent croissants, cakes, egg and potato tortillas, custards, and various meats. We also ate at the restaurant twice for dinner, and it was delicious with one of the better (quality and value) wine lists that we saw. We loved every bit of our stay!

My wife and I recently traveled to the Costa Brava. We booked a room in this hotel but since we didn't have a lot of money, we tried to reserve the cheapest rooms they have (tucked away in the back). When the owner found out that we were celebrating our honeymoon, we upgraded us to the nice expensive room at no cost. He even gave us a free bottle of very good cava sparkling wine as a gift!

Miguel, the owner, is a very friendly and knowledgeable guy who takes great care of his guests. His son and his nephew who also work there are very friendly and helpful.

The other best part about this place is the restaurant. The food is exquisite, including the breakfast, which is by far the best we had in our entire two week trip to Cataluña.

Even if you don't decide to stay here, stop by for some food at the Galena Restaurant. You will not be disappointed.

Hotel is a 200 year old farm house made of stone and wood timbers. Our room was beautiful with a stone shower in the bath room with the most ultra modern shower fixtures. the owner is very nice and helpful with information and Begur is a village not to be missed. A.K.
