“Cannot add more: simply excellent”

This hotel was recommended to us by friends and although we did find it price we decided to spend a couple of nights there. We did not regret it at all: every cent was worth the experience. I cannot add much more to the reviews already given. If you are in Begur do make sure you stay in this hotel.
The hotel owners are friendly and treat you as there family. Each room is unique and the whole hotel has a feeling of home and love to it.
The breakfast is lovely and you can enjoy it outside and do make sure that you book a table at the hotel restaurant. The food there is simply amazing.
The hotel is close to the center and you can easily find other restaurants to eat in or have a drink or do some shopping. In the evening go to the main square to watch the locals dancing under the stars.
The hotel has its own parking which is a plus if you get to Begur by car (strongly recommended). also an added benefit: if you forget some of the beach items, kids toys for the beach or need extra towels, you can pick them up in the hotel.
I would definitely recommend this hotel to my readers.

“warmth and charm”

After spending a few days in Barcelona where it was hard to get away from throngs of tourists, Aiguaclara and Begur were paradise found! The hotel is charming, but spare, the restaurant quite good, and the people were extremely welcoming and accommodating. We enjoyed walking around the village and exploring the nearby beaches and medieval towns. It was truly the highlight of our trip to Spain!

“Unique Experience & Lovely Hosts”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 9 January 2012

My partner and I stayed here for 1 night in October 2011 as part of a trip around Catalonia. This hotel had the most character and charm of any we stayed at and we were made to feel very welcome by our hosts, who were so friendly and helpful. The overall design of the hotel was beautiful and we liked all of the different spaces (computer area, chill out room, restaurant, outdoor terrace) and extras (towels & toys to take to the beach, honour bars & plenty of reading material & DVDs).

The restaurant had a very nice atmosphere; on the Friday night it was full and there was a party evening with a DJ & dancing which attracting lots of outsiders too. The quality of the food was very good and it was presented in a contemporary style.

We paid 85 Euros for our room, which we felt was good value, but ideally we would have preferred parking to have been at a lower rate. We had sat nav but the hotel was still slightly difficult to find at first; not a problem, but I would recommend reserving parking with the hotel as it was helpful to be able to park next to the hotel in its private car park.

The only area which we would change if we returned was the bedroom. We were given the last room in the hotel which was right next to the front door. Unfortunately this meant that it was very noisy and we couldn't fully relax in the room, as all of the other guests were going back and forth past it. The party evening also meant that there was a lot of noise late at night, and this didn't stop until after 1.30am, as people were hanging around outside our window chatting. However, this would not dissuade us from returning to the hotel as we enjoyed every other aspect of our stay. Next time we will just request a room upstairs. We were not bothered at all by the bells, as some other reviewers have stated; they are noticeable but part of the charm of staying in a small town.

We left wishing that we were able to stay for more than one night and we hope to return next year.

“Charming Little Hotel”

We drove from barcelona to begur on a 3 day ride before returning to the "big city" for a few days. The aiguaclara was a perfect choice there. When our gps on the rental car led us astray, a hotel rep actually walked to the gas station in town to show us the way! The room was large & quaint. Breakfast, included was good. (granola had bits of chocolate -- yum). Easy walk to explore the town & they recommended a very good restaurant for dinner (called Fonda camer I think). They also gave us a map & marked interesting towns to see on our way to our next stop in gerona.

“Excellent stay, will come back!!!”

This hotel is a gem, we loved it! We stayed only for one night while travelling in Costa Brava, it was just a stop-over in our trip. Wow! We had a great surprise and discovery. The decoration of the hotel has been very carefully done, with lots of details and a bit funky. It was great. We had a lovely room with huge terrace having a view to the castle and the old town. The staff and owners are very pleasent and attentive to details. The restaurant is also nice, we had a great time in the DJ friday's night. We'll come back for sure just to enjoy the hotel, the location and to explore the area a bit more.

Room Tip: Ask a room with terrace and view to the castle, are superb!
