This was an excellent find in Solsona, right on the edge of the old town, which we stumbled across after looking for accommodation on our recent motorcycling holiday. Easy walking to the old town, cathedral and ancient sites and the modern town centre. The rooms are large and airy with wooden beams and old fashioned shuttered windows, and the bathrooms have Jacuzzi baths, toiletries and bathrobes. The secure parking was a must for the bikes, and the one meal we had in the restaurant in the evening was exceptionally well prepared and presented, with excellent quality local wine at reasonable prices. The dinner menu was 16.5 Euros for three courses - great value. The restaurant opens at 8.30pm which is a bonus in a land that doesn't start thinking about dinner to after 9.00pm at the earliest! Breakfast was a little disappointing until one of us requested some fried eggs which were duly served without fuss. The reception staff were very helpful and even helped in booking an onward hotel with secure parking for the bikes... It was a great holiday and this place was undoubtedly the best hotel we stayed in. Superb value at 60 Euros/night.
