Spent almost a week at this hotel which I could not fault.
The room was clean and comfortable.
We were on half board basis but expected to eat out most nights as previous experiences of half board in Spain was not good but there was an extensive buffet which included plenty of salads and hot food choices as well. As a vegeatarian I always managed to find something and felt I ate well. We only eat out one night which is a real testament to the quality of the food.
The waiters were also helpful and staff in general were helpful.
We could not have asked for more from this hotel.
In terms of La Herradura the bay is lovely but it is small. It only takes 15 minutes to walk from one side of the bay to the other. There were buses to Nerja and Almunecar and Granada but we like an active holiday in terms of sports etc and have to say there was not enough for us to do in the daytime. There was a sailing/ windsurfing school on the beach which was our main reason for going to La Herradura but the tuition was not great and was a little disappointing.
We really enjoyed the relaxed evenings in various bars the atmosphere was laid back and friendly with no lager louts or karaoke in sight and I have to say I much preferred the Spanish feel to this village as opposed to the more English atmosphere of Nerja.
