I stayed at the Abades as it is close to the racing circuit at Guadix. We were a large group, and at first sight we thought this hotel was more of a cheap motel due to it's proximity to the motorway and the large petrol station on the site. As a result, we were very pleasantly surprised!

The hotel was perfect for our needs - we needed space to eat, drink and be merry, and we got it! There's a bar / cafe area which alternates between chaos when a coach arrives to deserted when they leave... all in the space of a few minutes! The coffee and orange juice are excellent, as is the range of pastries and bar snacks - the special sandwich is brilliant....

There's an area outside at the back where you can get some sunshine, and plenty of room inside, too. The food in the proper restaurant was really good, lots of variety and excellent value. The staff were lovely, even providing a birthday cake and a separate table to put it on....

The rooms were a good size, nicely decorated, were clean and had everything we needed. Although, strangely, there wasn't a mirror in the bedroom.

My tips:
- There's free wi-fi in the lobby area, but not much seating and it's a bit isolated. Not the best for internet surfing whilst drinking a coffee...
- The road outside is noisy, so if you're a light sleeper, take some earplugs!

I would recommend the hotel. It's well run, friendly, clean and excellent value.

Good location for a 1 night stay to visit Guadix and Valancia. Very clean and quiet. The price his fine.
