“the Good and the Bad”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 22 January 2012

stayed at this hotel while snowboarding in sierra nevada.it was a good 20 minutes drive from the ski resort(if you know where it is). the hotel itself is in a residential neighboorhood.
The Good: Hotel is brand new, very grand with big open public areas.stayed in room 116,big room, comfortable bed, satellite and domestic tv( on satelite you had german and english tv Channels), big wardrobe, safe, air condition very good, underground parking (extra charge),but plenty of parking outside the hotel, very competitive prices for granada area.gentleman at reception on check in spoke good english.
The Bad:Location is really hard to find, needs better signage. passed by twice before some locals pointed me in the right direction. there was no translation in any other language for hotel information, menus etc.gentleman at the roomservice phone spoke no english, went to reception to order, phoned down for a iron and ironing board, nobody could help.lady on check out no english again, was kind of tricky to make her understand that we were overcharged on one item. the hot tub bath did not work, drawn a bath after a long day snowboarding only to find out that the tub did not work, the open plan bathroom is not to my liking.some chipped paint and cracked tiles.

dont want to sound to negative, enjoyed my stay and would defenitly recommend this hotel.
i think you just need to have information about the menu or hotel in more then your native language.the outside pool looked very good but it was too cold to use in january.good breakfast with a good choice of hot and cold ingredients.

“A poor hotel”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 8 January 2012

I stayed here with a group of friends for New Years eve, and we were all very dissappointed. Our rooms were all standard and they felt it too. Considering the €120 price per night it was very steep for such a basic room. My room is sparsely furnished, with no coffe facilities, ironing board or iron - not what you expect from a 4* superior hotel.

Also the bar did not open until late so we could not have a drink, or eat unless we wanted room service. One night we ate in the restaurant and the service was extremley poor. Rude waiter and the menu was very limited. The food also took a long time to arrive.

The only positive that i can mention is that the breakfast was very good.

Overall very disappointed.

“Best rooms in Granada area,Luxury hotel, not located in the center”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 30 December 2011
1
person found this review helpful

I have stayed one night in the hotel with my husband for a getaway at Christmas Period.
LOCATION
It´s not in the center, not in Granada, it´s in Monachil area, very residential (you will do better with a car) 5 minutes drive on the motorway from Central Granada. But it´s a very good area, for tapas there are very good bars (RHIN Cerveceria a must) in the area of Athletism Courts. Good location for skying in Sierra Nevada.
HOTEL
The hotel is a 4 stars plus, and it worths it. It´s new, huge lobby area, nice bar and restaurant. It has a lovely pool, gardens, impresive communal areas and private parking.
The hotel is new and this is good and bad, because there are still some things not fully finished so it has in some areas and unfinished impression, but I think this will be fixed in a couple of months.
STAFF
They are very nice and helpful although some should get more info of the area (we asked for a chemist and they couldn´t tell us where it was).
RESTAURANT
Our rate had breakfast included, buffet style, good choice and excellent quality.
ROOMS(THE BEST)
We stayed in a junior suite, more a five stars than four. It was massive with sitting area, two double beds. big bathroom with a double jacuzzy bath. nice and modern decor and a terrace. Really impresive!! We wish we were staying for a week.
It has been a very good place to stay, and we highly recommend it.
GUESTS
We saw mainly Spanish people and a big group of Japanese tourists

“Great Hotel”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 30 December 2011

We stayed here as a group of 9 visiting Granada, Cordoba, Tangier and Gibraltar in October 2010.

This hotel was much better than expected. We obtained a very good price for 3 triple rooms from Octopus Travel and there were not many reviews on Tripadvisor at the time of travel so we did not know what to expect.

The hotel was quite so we politely asked for an upgrade at reception, which was granted. We therefore enjoyed huge rooms with lovely views and spacious jacuzzi bathrooms (which we never had time to use in our 2 nights there).

Breakfast buffet was excellent, with lovely coffee and a nice selection.

Hotel is very clean, spacious and well kept. Location is the only issue, we had hire cars with sat nav so was not a problem.

Overall, I would definitely return to this hotel.
