My wife, 13-year-old daughter and I were traveling around Andalucia by car and stumbled upon the Villa Turistica while visiting the Alpujarras region. In October it was a beautiful place with the trees changing colour and a magnificent view down the valley, with the Mediterranean in the distance and Africa possibly just visible beyond. We paid 86 euros for a two-bedroom cottage with this magnificent view and a nice cosy fireplace, which we felt was quite reasonable. There are a number of good restaurants in the town of Bubion, and we tried one of those for dinner rather than the hotel restaurant. Breakfast there at the hotel the next day was rather meagre. I would echo the comment about security - our cottage had patio doors that could have easily been broken in through. Fortunately we did not experience a theft. Bubion is a very nice village which reminded me a bit of Santorini, being perched on the valley side as it is. The Villa Turistica was beautiful, quiet and a good value for the price.
