I spent a week here with my niece and nephew (ages 8 and 11) and found it to be an excellent experience! Check-in was fast and easy, and the front desk staff was always very pleasant (always greeted us when we walked in the door, wished us a good day as we were leaving, etc.). The room was in very good condition, and I can't say enough about how comfortable the beds are! (I think this is part of a new program Hampton is implementing systemwide, and I commend them for that.) The housekeeping staff graciously worked around our schedule (sometimes the kids just wanted to hang out in the room for an hour or so after breakfast) but always did a fine job of cleaning. The breakfast was well above the standard continental breakfast some hotels provide (you've got to try the cinnamon-raisin biscuits!), and freshly baked cookies every evening were a nice treat. The location couldn't be better: a few blocks from I-85, so you could be downtown in 15 minutes, and a mile or two from the MARTA station, so you could take the train into Atlanta if you didn't want the hassle of parking. (I think you really should have a car, though, to get anywhere, although I think I saw a bus or two go by.) Not a great selection of restaurants right nearby (the Atlanta Diner was OK, and within walking distance), although all the big chains are within a few exits up or down I-85. My only real complaint was with the pool -- it could have been a little larger, and it definitely needed better cleaning. The safety of the water wasn't a concern, because they used plenty of chlorine, but the water was still a bit cloudy (difficult to see the bottom in the 5 ft "deep" end). Was it a W? By no means, but for the price it was far more than I expected!
