This hotel is under new Management. We took active role in the cleanliness of the hotel, capital improvement of the hotel, and improved our overall customer base as well as the environment of the hotel. I believe that you will be pleasantly surprised if you choose to visit us again. Thank you.

“If you need a place to just sleep ... No problem”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 12 September 2010

I checked in to Fairview after a terrible experience in a Decatur hotel. I had my daughter and her friend with me. The room was comfortable. The terrace overlooked Six flags. My car was in a gated parking lot. I did notice bleach spots on the carpet. The staff was very friendly and professional. There is a club connected so I was concerned if we would hear the music. Stayed on the fourth floor didn't hear a thing. Breakfast was blueberry muffins, corn flakes or cherrios. The elevator was dirty in the morning. They had a crew trying to get things straight. I thought they could've started earlier knowing customers would come down for breakfast. Mc Donalds is about 50 feet away. The ice machine was out of ice on our floor. Staff cleaning in regular clothes. You don't know if they were staying there or worked for the hotel. If you need a place to sleep you can stay here but if your expecting a very nice hotel keep driving. It depends on your need for me to recommend this hotel. There are other hotels in the area 2 exits West.

“This is the most disgusting hotel I have ever stayed in”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 23 August 2010

We had to stay here because we were on our way home from Florida and it was 10pm. This was the only hotel out of 6 we looked at that I would consider staying in. The hotel was disgusting. There were nasty stains on the sheets on our bed. It took the front desk 2 hours to bring up clean sheets so we could go to sleep. The towels had nasty stains on them and looked like they had not been laundered. The room was not clean. I felt grimy and nasty the whole night. The AC did not work that well. First thing we saw when we went into the lobby was a hooker coming from the corridor where the rooms are. There were several hookers and men in the front parking lot. The window in our room faced the pool area and all night long there were truck drivers coming in and out of the pool area. When the trucks would stop they would honk and then several hookers got out of a SUV and make their "visits" to the trucks. I was appauled that the staff would allow this sort of behavior go on at their establishment. I made sure my kids never looked out of the window and kept the curtains closed the whole time. We could not get out of there fast enough at daybreak. I don't think any of us got much sleep. We complained to the front desk when we checked out. He didn't say much about the cleanliness all he kept going on about was the fact that they were suppose to have security there all night in the form of police officers, and he couldn't believe how they could pay the police department $35 an hour to provide security. There was not even an apology from them for the lack of clean room and linens or for the hookers doing their "business" there all night long. Very disappointed and would never recommend this hotel to anyone.
