Reserved a two-room suite. Upon entry, carpeting was filthy. Filthy meaning food and beverage stains - all over. There were crumbs on one of the stools by the breakfast bar in the kitchen. There were crumbs and old ketchup packets on top of the refrigerator. Due to the condition of the room we decided to leave. I reserved another room at a different hotel in the area, we packed up our things and left. I know I could have at least tried to request to change rooms, or perhaps get a refund?, but decided not to on account of not wanting to risk moving to another room to find the same conditions. It was late, and we were tired.
Positive point... Front desk receptionist was kind, knowledgeable and helpful during check-in. In retrospect, I should have given her the chance to correct the situation or at least notified her of the situation.
My suggestion to the manager.... if replacing the older carpeting is not an option, have the carpets in the rooms professionally cleaned. Check the work being "done" by the Housekeeping staff.... they're ripping you off and you're going to lose more business if they're not held accountable. Please check out the carpet in room 220.
