This hotel is adjacent to a conference center (no need for going out in rain or snow) which is the primary reason for using this hotel. It is super convenient if attending any one of the convention center events. That said, the signage to find the convention center is not very good.
There is free parking on the premises. Although it is close to the interstate, make sure you have proper directions, because it is tucked away behind the convention center and not on a major road.
Inside, the hotel is an atrium type with 14 floors. When we visited, the atrium looked rather sterile. They must have recently cut back their plants, because you didn't really see any greenery from below. They made a big deal about their teak bells which were pretty when hit by sunlight. Otherwise, they kind of blended in. Because it's an atrium hotel, you have a bank of elevators on one side of the atrium. If your room is close to the elevators, it may be noisy, but if you are on the opposite side, it can be quite a hike.
The rooms were very nice, with everything very clean and well maintained. Because it is a convention hotel, the expectation is that you are on an expense account. That means that there is a charge for the bottled water sitting in your room and if you decide to use the wi-fi. The buffet breakfast is a flat $17. Fortunately, there are some restaurants located around the convention center and across the street at the Cumberland Mall. The only time we ate at the hotel was for breakfast at the lobby coffee shop. The prices there were very reasonable if you prefer a pastry and coffee in the morning. I'd stay here again for the convention convenience.
