What? Im not sure I agree with all these reviews that this property is "excellent"..at least not in comparison to experiences at other Embassy Suites.
GOOD: updated room with new furniture, location of place, valet parking was quick, organized, and convenient. Also the courtesy van is nice, especially with weekend holiday traffic. housekeeping very responsive to specific requests. Rate a good value.
NOT SO GOOD: Really noisy. Part of this is due to the design and noise rising up from the atrium, but this place has been there long enough that a solution (better insulated walls, doors, even little white noise makers in rooms?) could have been found by now. We were awakened very early in the morning because of the music playing in the lobby too loud! Happy hour/breakfast area was not really clean. Especially at breakfast, restocking way too slow, several dirty dishes, overflowing trash cans, and obviously scaled back from they typical Embassy Suites breakfast choices. Happy hour cocktails in tacky plastic throw away cups. Obviously they are prioritizing efficiency.
Lack of hospitality at front desk. "Hello", "Have a nice day"...but nothing more. Not even a "Happy Holidays". When asked for directions, suggestions, and personal opinions/advice, we were told "oh, if you go upstairs to the public business center and swipe your room key, you can google it." It was crowded, and we were dressed and ready to call the car. Given the location of this hotel, and the service level of the brand, and being in Atlanta at Christmas time, it seems there would be a concierge, or at the least a hospitality-minded member of the front desk team.
