“Just Don't Stay Here”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 24 August 2011

I decided to stay at this Hotel after having consistent pleasant experiences with the Holiday Inn Express brand. All I can say is DO NOT STAY HERE. I feared for my life the entire time. I can't even imagine if I would have had small children with me. There were thugs surrounding the entire area and I saw drug drugs being dealt right below my window. I had a long trip and I decided to go to bed about 10:30 PM. From midnight to about 4:30 AM, there was constant noise, hollering and screaming coming from the parking lot, the adjacent hotel parking lot, and the entire floor I was on. Then, I got up to leave about 7am and everyone had their "Do not Disturb" signs on the door, which really ticked me off. The hotel looks old, needs maintenance, and was not clean at all. To be honest, I would rather sleep in my vehicle than ever consider going to this hotel again.
I have never had a complaint regarding a Holiday Inn Express Hotel before, but I feel obligated to let everyone know how bad this one is. I don't know what happened!

“Front desk help wants to "stab people"”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 30 August 2007

We had a group of 30, mostly women, visiting Atlanta for an independent sporting event. We were on a tight budget and did not expect luxury. We did not also expect disturbing smells, rudeness and threats to personal safety. First trouble, front desk would not help lost travelers. When blood stained sheets were brought to the front desk, the attendant said "I don't do sheets". Unusual odors in rooms were met with "I suggest you purchase vinegar at a store and spray your carpet". Our complaints were kept to a minimum after we overhead this individual threatening others with "I just want to stab that woman". What was once unfriendly quickly became very frightening. Unclean rooms are one thing but feeling powerless and afraid is another. We made "light" of a power outage caused by a downed powerline hit buy driver in stolen car. At least we couldn't see the dirt, insects, blood, etc.

On a slightly positive note, there seemed to be an on-sight evening security guard. When power went out, they did attempt to launder towels and sheets at an off-site laundry facility.

“Ready for demolition”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 6 July 2007

Leaky plumbing and soaked carpets, toilets that won't flush, either keep the room dark with the drapes closed or have no privacy at all, tattered towels and bedding - not even an iron in the room for the business traveler. Be afraid.

“Roll up the windows, lock the doors!”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 17 June 2006

This hotel is set right on a corner where there is a bunch of "things" happening, not so sure any of them legal. We came around the corner to enter the hotel and first thing we had to do was lock the doors and roll up the windows because we were being approached on all sides by men, looking for???? we weren't sure, and weren't that interested in finding out. We were supposed to stay there 3 days but checked out the next morning , after the ordeal of getting into the hotel parking lot, being reassured that there were security cameras, and seeing a "police presence" of 3 squad cars in the parking lot looking for someone they had seen behind the hotel smoking crack . We locked ourselves in the room for the rest of the afternoon, ventured out before dark to grab a bite to eat and coming right back to the hotel and locking in for the night, chairs against the door, all three locks engaged we settled in for the night. The room itself wasn't bad, tv reception left a lot to be desired, but otherwise not to bad, the whole vicinity of this hotel is in a very undesirable area. Wouldn't plan on a relaxing day by the pool here with the kids, that is for sure! We went down one exit, closer to the hospital and found another room for 20 bucks more a night, but well worth it for the security and sense of well being.

“Should have slept in the car instead!”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 6 October 2005

I would not advise this hotel to any traveller whatsoever. I would have been better off to just sleep in the car at a rest area. The room had bugs, the faucet leaked, there was a lot of noise outside. Overall just an unpleasant experience.
