“Wonderful hotel - will for sure stay again”

I stayed at the Artmore the weekend of Jan. 26 - 29th and look forward to my return. I was there on business and the free wifi was fast and reliable. The hotel is also centrally located to downtown, Buckhead and freeway access which was very helpful.
The rooms were clean, comfortable and stylish. To the review earlier with the list of expectations for a suite - seems like you prefer cookie-cutter chain hotels. Which is fine - I do at times prefer those hotels myself and do not fault you at all. However, if you want a smaller hotel with boutique style, warmth, comfort and uniqueness - the Artmore is for you.

It has a fun bar with two bartenders who know how to make fantastic drinks and provide wonderful customer service - special call out to the Apple/Cucumber Mojito! Due to the great vibe in the bar - it is an after work spot for business people in the area, as well as guests - so if you want a quieter room, suggest you have the gumption to specify a 3rd floor room. Or specify NOT near the bar.

Nick at the front desk was awesome - excellent service, attentive, efficient and welcoming each time I returned to the hotel from business around Atlanta.

The valets were fast with my car - and the courtyard was cozy, inviting and a really great place to finish our evening by the fire pit - or curl up with morning coffee.

A wonderful unique hotel at a truly reasonable rate.

Room Tip: If you want a quieter room then request it is NOT near the bar - and preferably on the 3rd floor. A...

“Okay but a little disappointing”

We were really looking forward to staying here for 2 nights on our Atlanta layover having read the reviews but have to say that we were pretty disappointed. Firstly, on arrival at our designated room, it was right next to the bar and hideously noisy. We asked for a change and were shown to a room that was half the size and really dingy. I them remembered that I had actually booked a suite via lastminute.com and this definitely wasn't a suite. My partner went back to reception to tell them and upon checking we were told that our room had been downgraded, without our knowledge. We were given the last remaining suite, which was okay but not to the standard of other suites we've stayed in. For example:
* You have to pay for everything in the room - even coffee and water wasn't complementary. They do have free coffee in the bar but you have to pay $2 to make it yourself in your room!
* No slippers or robes, which are pretty standard in most hotel suites
* Maid service is not provided daily - our bin wasn't emptied at all while we were there
* No safe is provided in rooms, so there's nowhere secure to leave anything, especially important in the ground floor rooms that have windows opening straight onto the terrace
* We had a kingside bed but the bedding was nowhere near big enough, so the sheets didn't reach across the bed and bared the mattress
* There is no shelf space in the bathroom so there's nowhere to put a wash bag
* The room was pretty tired - eg. the paintwork and furniture was chipped and not in great condition, carpets unpleasant to walk on barefoot (hence slippers would have been nice...)
* We found the hotel to be really noisy - thin walls to the rooms and inconsiderate guests shouting along corridors and in outside spaces at 4am
* On departure, we'd asked for a cab to be booked to take us to the airport, which was 15 minutes late. I understand that that may not have been the hotel's fault, but we stood in reception waiting for check out for 20 minutes before we got any service or attention of any kind

On the plus side...
* The hotel has free wifi which is a good speed and it is in a great location, close to the train station and easily accessible to most attractions
* It's just around the corner from a fantastic restaurant - South City Kitchen on Crescent - highly recommended!

Would we stay here again? Sadly, probably not if we could find somewhere else available at the right price.

Room Tip: If you book a suite or non-standard room, suggest you make it clear at check-in that that's what...

“Efficient, beautiful, convenient.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 1 February 2012

The Artmore was a beautiful and unique property to drive up to. The staff was efficient with any request we made.

The room was not overly large, but comfortable and beautifully done, with a large bathroom. The jacuzzi tub was a pleasant surprise. Very nice Aveda toiletries. The bedding was dreamy.

The feel of the property was nice. Great modern decor imposed on a beautiful old buildling in a way that works. It was a little chilly to enjoy the beautiful courtyard, but it still felt lovely to wait outside for our ride with the big fire going.

In addition, it was a nice walking distance from the Alliance theatre, which was what we were in town for.

Thank you Artmore!

“Here is the Update on the Artmore”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 30 January 2012

Wasn't sure how to update my first review of the Artmore, so I'm using the review format unless told otherwise.

The original review: Decent Bed, Ruined Pants and Poor Customer Service
Where I left the story: I had recovered the base cost of the pants (after 13 phone calls as well as the original 4 in-person conversations!); 3 months later- I did not think I would ever see the cost of the shipping and tailoring reimbursed...

In the end Michael Halpner, General Manager at the Artmore made sure I was reimbursed after reading my review. It would have been better if it was done quickly and without me having to contact them a million times, but I guess Trip Advisor helped me identify the right person! I just wanted to find a way of letting those of you who read my original review know that the hotel stepped up and tried to make it right in the end (even offering a free stay, which they/I never actually followed up on)... but they did put the pants issue to rest.

Thanks Michael for your help.

Room Tip: Don't have them do laundry here! Try to stay above the first floor (because of the lounge, thin...
