Stayed at this hotel over Halloween weekend. Was pleasantly surprised with all the features this hotel had. In the lobby, they offer a 24 snack area with sandwiches, pizza, salads, coffee, drinks. (Water $2.50, personal pizza $8) Also, they have a 2 computer e-room where you can check your emails and print. The hotel room was clean and spacious with two double beds, couch area, flat screen tv, fridge with bar area, computer desk, etc. Furniture was modern and comfortable. Free wireless throughout room and hotel. There are ice machines on floor 3 and 5. In the morning they offer complimentary breakfast with (cereal, fresh fruit, bagels, toast, yogurt, coffee, oj and drinks, no hot food).. however you can order the hot food off the snack menu. Overall, I would recommend this hotel for pleasure and business. Thumbs up

I spent 2 days at Stone Mountain with the family. The third day we traveled into Atlanta to visit the Children's Discovery Museum. I found a good deal on this hotel through hotels.com. Room was fabulous and the lobby is modern and inviting. My wife and 2 young daughters thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The room was spacious and clean. Plenty of room to spread your wings and get cozy.

I did my research on Trip Advisor before booking a room with Hyatt Place. We first were going to stay downtown at one of the more expensive hotels however, I preferred to spend money shopping instead of on parking so we opted to stay in the perimeter. I booked with Hyatt Place Atlanta Perimeter based on the reviews on here. I should have paid attention to the most recent review instead!

I booked a King room on the Hyatt Place website for 2 nights (October 2-4, 2009). We had an eight hour drive and were running late so we called ahead. Arriving in Atlanta we got stuck in more traffic so we called Hyatt Place again to let them know we were still on the way. We were told no problem that our room was reserved on our credit card. However, that was not the case.

When we got to the hotel they told us all they had left was a King room that was handicap accessible or a double room. We chose the handicap room so that we didn't have to sleep separate but in entering it was very small, the room was dirty, wallpaper was peeling off the wall, there was no tub (which my husband was looking forward to), and it smelled stale and musty. So, we requested to change to the double room. We were assured twice that in the morning we could change to a King room like we booked.

The 2nd room was better but there was a "present" left in the rest room (see the photo). This room was also dirty. It didn't appear that they were new sheets and although the room had a bathtub, the drain was missing part of it and there was no way to plug it to retain the water. The tub was also dirty as if it hadn't had a good scrubbing in a while. When we switched rooms they told us we could change to a King in the morning but that we needed to go and "remind" them in the morning so we just went to bed for the night.

In the morning we had breakfast which was surprisingly really good but at the front desk they told us we couldn't just change rooms - that we had to come back at noon. Then she said come back around one or two. She was getting rude like I was inconveniencing her! I was getting frustrated but didn't want to change my plans just to get back to the hotel. So we decided we would chalk it up and enjoy the day instead of spending our entire time driving back and forth from the city to fix the problem.

When we got back to the double room I was shocked! They made up the bed but didn't return the throw pillow on one of the beds, they didn't clean ANYTHING, the coffee wasn't replaced so we had none for the next day, the toilet was clogged and we had to call for someone to come unclog it. They didn't even EMPTY THE TRASH CANS!! We were left with one towel for the night and the bathroom floor was filthy with dirty footprints everywhere!!

I will NEVER stay at Hyatt Place again. They are quite possibly one of the worst hotels I have stayed in. I guess you get what you pay for! Next time I will splurge on parking and stay downtown in one of the nicer hotels. Avoid this hotel!!!

The manager and staff were excellent with customer service. They decorated our area for my son's birthday and gave him a lot of goodies.

I’ll start by saying the best things about Hyatt Place Atlanta Perimeter are the location of the hotel and appearance of the rooms. However, we had several problems at this hotel.

We were first placed in a room on the sixth floor near the elevators. The air conditioner would vibrate and shake each time it shut off so we politely requested a room change the next morning. We were moved to another room near the elevators on the fifth floor. We returned from sight seeing that night to find out the air conditioner in that room was not cooling at all. A front desk employee came up to the room and verified it was not working. She offered to move us to a room across the hall, and she also informed us that we had been put in their small rooms that had the old non-digital air conditioning units. Our next room was much larger, and it had a digital a/c unit. We thought our problems were finally solved. However, we turned on the light/fan in the bathroom, and the metal of the fan made such a loud noise that we decided not to turn it on and just leave the bathroom door open for light. The bathroom door also could not open all the way because it would hit the shower curtain rod. The next morning, I found our room safe was missing the key to open it so I could not secure our laptop computer. I called the front desk, and I was informed that they are in the process of removing the room safes and would not replace any missing keys. They suggested I bring my laptop to the front desk to secure it in a safe deposit box. However, the safe deposit boxes are only inches wide…not nearly large enough for a laptop, even a small one. I then spoke to a manager about our challenges, and she suggested we change rooms AGAIN. We refused to move to another room, and she assured us the bathroom fan would be fixed before we returned later that evening. Unfortunately, the fan was never fixed and there was no follow up from the manager. At check out, the front desk employee asked us if we enjoyed our stay. We informed her that we did not enjoy our stay and asked for the manager’s name to follow up later. As we walked out, she turned to another employee and made a disgruntled sound behind our backs.

We do not typically complain about hotels, but this hotel truly does not understand the importance of guest service. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone.
