This is the worst hotel I have ever stayed at.
My party and I arrived after long flights from the UK. We were very tired and just wanted to settle into our pre-booked/pre-paid rooms - we were due to stay there for 5 days before driving down to Florida.
We had asked for 2 x adjoining rooms, non-smoking and quiet. The rooms we were allocated were near the ice machine (noisy), smelled of smoke (or something else) and one of the doors had previously been 'jemmied' open and been repaired but the damage could still be seen. The rooms were dank, the furniture was old and damaged, the towel rail was hanging off the wall in the bathroom and the TV was scratched. The carpets were filthy and the bedding was stained and torn. The walk-ways and lifts were filthy and smelled and the rubbish bins were overflowing.
We asked the staff if we could have alternative rooms, thinking we would be offered something better. Unfortunately, the second set of rooms were even worse. We asked to be moved again but were told that this was the last time. However, these rooms were just as bad. We asked a final time to be moved and when we explained why, we were told what did we expect, we are not paying 5* prices. When I tried to explain that the least I expected was cleanliness, I was just shown the hand.... not good customer service!
I immediately phoned my travel company and asked to be moved. They advised that we had to stay one night before they could sort something out, which they eventually did the next day, and we were moved to the Hilton Garden Inn, which was just up the road, and was a million times better.
The breakfast at the Baymont Inn was poor. Too many people and not enough chairs/tables etc., the cereal had run out and I asked the staff for replenishments, however, these did not appear.
Our rooms overlooked the pool, which was absolutely filthy. We heard staff say that the pool was closed whilst it was being cleaned (yet we saw a young boy swimming in it). We also overheard staff saying that it was closed as they were waiting for it to be fixed. I wouldn't have gone near it at all, it had green mould growing on it!
Overall, as you can see, the experience was dreadful and not what we expected on our arrival in Atlanta. We were very disappointed. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone and certainly would not consider using this chain again if they think that this is acceptable.
