“Better than expected”

Some of the reviews were not so kind but I was very pleasantly surprised. This was the cleanest hotel in which I have stayed in recent memory. Quiet. Very convenient for my interviews at Grady Memorial Hospital. I would definitely stay here again myself or suggest it to out-of-town family members who were visiting in Atlanta. If you're not predominantly going to Emory, Grady, VA, or CDC...it is a little "out of the way" of typical Atlanta sites. But, if you know your way around the city, it is no problem. (I used to live in Atlanta myself so I did not find it to be isolated but perhaps people not knowing their way around so easily would find it out of the way)

“Clean quiet bed - nothing special”

Here for business at the University and my stay was okay. Had a pleasant couple of nights. Inn is located conveniently close to Emory University and across the street from the CDC, but otherwise is quite isolated. Without a car, this is a problem as the only food available is at the restaurant - limited hours that do not include breakfast. Room service is available but limited, costly and inconvenient. I do not share others' more negative experiences about the rooms. My room was well maintained but yes the spout on the sink did not reach the edge of the sink so unless wide open, moderate flows dribbled along the countertop. Odd. A second oddity was the toilet - the paper roll actually jabbed me in the ribs unless I leaned away and off center. Yes the bathroom is small but I did not spend a lot of time there. Beyond this peculiarity, the bed was comfortable and the room adequate. The TV is the last analog set that I have seen in a long time. This room was no "dump" - I have stayed in dumps before and this was not it. Noisy? I stayed in the back away from the road and on the lower level not the second level and slept fine (and I am a light sleeper). Staff was friendly but failed to convey instructions left at one shift to another - so I would give them a modest score. So overall this is an okay place and I would stay there again if business takes me to the neighborhood.

This place is a joke for $100 per night. Horrible. Bathroom so small the door almost hits the toilet.

“Noisy, old and dirty”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 7 December 2011

This hotel is right next to Emory university and hospital, and that's about the only positive thing you can say about it.

The downside of being next to the hospital are the ambulances, which arrive at all hours of the night.

Also, since the hotel is rather old, the plumbing is noisy, so I found myself waking up when the person in the next room went to the toilet.

The bathroom was rather old and some mold was on the bathtub. It didn't help my impression of the place that I found hairs from the previous occupants on the bathtub and the towels.

“Great location w/ a great staff!”

The best location for anyone visiting or working with Emory University. Our room's heater didn't work but, within 5 minutes of our call to the front desk, a staff member brought us a key for the room next door. He would earn extra points had he offered to assist me and my 85 year old mother in moving our luggage. Nevertheless, we moved our own and the second room was warm and comfy. Yes, the rooms could use some updating but, for the price and location, it is a good buy.
