Went to Bones for our anniversary. Got complimentary bubbly to start off the dinner. Brought our own super nice bottle of wine for the dinner itself. Started off with the tuna appetizer which was delicious once you add the flash fried capers with the bites of tuna. The bisque was very creamy and salty which is great for dipping the bread in, but was a bit too creamy for my tastes, but husband liked it. The biggest disappointment would be the side dishes. We got the 20 oz dry aged bone-in ribeye which we split and it was plenty of steak and was delicious, but the sides were pretty average. We got the grit fritters since we read they were really good from other reviews, but we just thought they were OK. The mac n cheese was the biggest dissapointment since the temperature was lukewarm which is not appealing for mac n cheese and the flavor was flat. The spinach was the best side, but still pretty average. For the quality of the sides, I would choose Rathbun Steak over Bones. The steak there was just as amazing and might even be slightly better (the porterhouse for sharing had an amazing sear and crusty outside with amazing flavor I still dream about). The service at Bones is beyond superb though.
