“Grandma's House”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 14 August 2006

The Good: Beautiful craftsmans home, great neighborhood, short walk to Little Five Points, friendly and helpful owner, interesting art-deco antiques, knick-knacks, and atmosphere. Lots of interesting books that I browsed when I couldn't sleep. Bed sheets felt new and crisp. My husband and I felt comfortable enough to relax in sun room and eat breakfast, watch TV. There were ceiling fans in every room and the owners kept it comfortably air conditioned, which must cost a fortune.

The Bad: No glass in window over the bathroom door I used, so I had to wait until no one was around to use the bathroom. (This is only one room's bathroom, the rest have bathrooms in the room itself) Horrible, horrible squishy, squeaky old bed. Lack of attention to small details such as: no towel bar in the bathroom, coffee left to burn instead of put in carafe, front door to house didn't automatically lock and I twice found it left unlocked at night. Many tacky touches such as plastic covers draped over tables like grandma's house.

Overall, I would stay again because the price I paid was comparable to a chain hotel, and I'll take staying in a home with nice people and antiques over a hotel anyday.

“Wonderful Hideaway”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 16 April 2006

I stayed here for a weekend birthday vacation getaway with my best friend. We loved the cozy feel, kind hosts, and perfect location. It's a beautiful 10 minute walk past lush homes to either Little Five Points or to the Marta station. Not only can you can stay here and never have to drive, but you can also enjoy sitting on the balcony of an historic home tended with love when you return from your time in the city. I will definitely stay here again.

“Perfect Atlanta Home Away from Home”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 6 December 2004

I've stayed at Heartfield Manor for years and am happy to recommend it highly. It's set in Atlanta's oldest urban neighborhood, Inman Park, with gorgeous tree-lined streets and other beautiful homes. It's full of antiques, but rather than being intimidating, the atmosphere is much more like going to your favorite grandmother's house. The owner provides a nice continental breakfast in the mornings, and as a long-time resident of the area, has recommendations for dining, events and attractions. It's very convenient to public transportation (MARTA) and convenient either that way or by car to downtown convention venues. It's also walking distance to charming local Little Five Points and all its dining, shopping, and entertainment. Can't say enough good things about the place!
